I am happy to write a review ofJulie Hatton's wonderful, locally trained Dance Warehouse entertainersof Scarborough who will soon be thrilling us when putting on their eleventh annual show.[June 10th to 12th - YMCA theatre in Scarborough]These highly dedicated and talented young people[ both onstage and backstage] are of high quality in every sense who give high quality matching performances
Their theatrical performances inevitably produce nights to remember.
The young dancers and singers who work exceptionally hard, are always very enthusiastic, performing with vitality and skill and with such obvious enjoyment at what they are doing. Their energy is really something. If they could bottle it and sell it they would make a fortune. The costume department always does a fantastic job and the performers look sensational in their various outfits.
Scarborough should be extremely proud of them because they do the town enormous credit.
In summer, taking a break from theatrical work, they hit the road traversing the length and breadth of the land to give top class performances at numerous Steam Fairs They are, without question, fine ambassadors for the town, transporting some of the resort's magic to the various venues. Performing with immense flair, skill and expertise, they compete with highly capable show people at some of these events and, frankly, still maage to leave the others standing. Excelling in almost every department they pick up most of the plaudits and prizes on offer, proving over and over again that they are one of the jewels in Scarborough's crown.
The ever youthful and charismatic Dave Temple who sings so well and who comperes the shows brilliantly, aids them on stage.
Graham Atkinson's magnificent 112 key Munich Octoberfest fairground organ, once a regular star attraction at Munich's great beer festival and other fairs throughout Europe, provide both excellent music and a magnificent backdrop for the dancing and singing shows. This marvellous organ is powered by Graham's superb Showman's Road locomotives including the famous 'Iron Maiden', star of the fim of the same name.
Scarborough folk who havent experienced this glittering combination of talents are missing a real treat.
In over a decade since they delighted audiences on their debut they have repeatedly shown us what a class act they are. Always highly innovative and stylish, their dynamic, varied and skilfully choreographed dance routines have never failed to provide the tonic to raise our spirits. This, along with singing of a very high quality, and eye-catching, stunning costumes, have caused their 'light' to shine very brightly indeed. In their case they have certainly shown us that, truly, there is no business like show business.Julie Hatton must be extremely proud of her young charges, who reflect her exceptional qualities every time that they step on stage, and who, in their inimitable way, provide us with their own unique brand of magic.
