I was in Mosob on February 2009 with a group of friends. It was fantastic. First my complements to the staff. Our host was simply amazing. She made us feel welcome and helped us to decide what to eat.The food is served on a large sour bread so basically each dish you order lands on this bread. You then get extra rolled bread so you can grab the food. It is a very nice way to share food with your friends unless they are very greedy ;)The bread beneath the food becomes soggy and without a fork you might want to leave it out...You can easily avoid the Italian dessert. Italy has colonized Eritrea in 1935, that is the connection.gilka.co.uk

Worth a visit if you've never had Eritrean before

There is a warm atmosphere in this restaurant probably due in large part to the attentive service from the proprietor(s) whose friendly and knowledgeable guidance about what to order are invaluable if you have never sampled Eritrean fare or even know what it is! Can't remember the names of the dishes ordered as we were a group of 10 so we ordered a couple of different dishes to share. But I do remember the yummy food came out in large platters - each had a colourful mound of meat and veg piled on top of thick spongy pancakes. To eat it the traditional way, you tear pieces of the pancake off with your fingers and use that to scoop up chunks of the meat & veg. The pancake itself has a slightly sour taste so it's not tasty on its own. Overall, it's fun to try if you've never eaten Eritrean before. Including a drink or two each and half of us ordering dessert, we paid around £22pp.

spicy and hot!

Mosob is a great place run by a couple of brothers and the ole cameo from their mum. It has a great atmosphere which is relaxed and friendly, you also get a great education into Eritrean history and food. It's a place you could almost walk past and is one of Harrow road's hidden treasures. The food is hot and spicy with oodles of flavour and a great place for the adventurous. The food is warming and moreish and the starters are satisfingly great! Once a month they invite all their regulars, closest and dearest to a Mosob party where they provide funky music and good food. If you happen to go more than once, they always seem to remeber you and are always keen to recommend new dishes. At the back of the restaurant, you can kick back and relax with some fresh mint tea and smoke a bit of shisha and are regaled by tales of how the furniture was bought and brought back from Eritrea. The place is small but what it lacks in size it makes up in character and fun! Worth the visit i think! and its not badly priced either!
