About Us

Overall, the ambition of Mason's Bistro Bar is to provide relaxed wining and dining inside a piece of the Mediterranean transported to the heart of York. Changed on a regular basis, the lunch and dinner menus concentrate on excellent regionally based dishes derived from the whole of the Mediterranean region, including North Africa, Spain and France. The dishes are faithfully reproduced from original recipes and only the freshest and best of ingredients are used in their preparation.

    Excellent relaxed environment

    Had visited Masons once before and found the atmosphere excellent but the food fussy and overpriced. Recently popped in for lunch as we had seen the place had been revamped. What a change! Still the excellent ambience but this time with enourmous portions and friendlier staff. Definitely recommend the cajun chicken! Will most certainly be going back soon.

    be warned this is not the masons that you have maybe visited before. All the lovely ambiance has been ripped out with the decor and chef made food. It is not a restaurant, but somewhere serving ready made food. Such a shame they changed it.
