• Excellent windows and fitters abysmal office staff

  We recently bought new windows and doors from Orion. The installation had to be done in two parts as we were having the house extended and the new part wouldn't be ready for a few months. The first installation was to replace all of the existing windows. The fitters were excellent, hardly any damage to the existing plaster work and very clean and tidy. The only let down was that all of the windows arrived fitted with the wrong type of trickle vents even though the correct type was clearly marked on the order. When we were ready for the second part of our order it took three phone calls and two personal visits to the showroom before their surveyor bothered to contact us to arrange a date for the survey. While we were waiting we even received a letter from them asking us to get in touch to let them know when we would be ready for the rest of our order! We have just had the second part of our order delivered and fitted. These came without any trickle vents as they were coming the following day. The French doors arrived with wrong trickle vents fitted. The following day, the vents arrived and we discovered that they were the correct type but the wrong size (too big). We now have to wait another two weeks for the company to order some new frames and then all of the windows need to be taken out and replaced with the correct frames and vents. When I spoke to one of their managers about how their poor quality control and lack of communication was letting down the business he tried to tell me that problems were very rare. When I tried to get him to be quiet for long enough for me to explain all of the problems we'd had, he put the phone down on me. Orion provide very good quality windows, they employ very skilled fitters who make an excellent job, the rest of the company is a complete shambles.
