  • Add Touch Extra information

    This is a free opportunity to expand your business description, explain what is unique about your business and why potential customers should contact you. All the information in Touch Extra is optimised on the major search engines like Google, which therefore increases your likelihood of better rankings and helps generate more customer leads and sales. The more relevant the information about your company, the better your traffic and response will be. This should include keywords keyphrases relating to the work your business does, it's location, etc. Anything that you think a potential customer searching for your business would find relevant.


  • Key Words/Key Phrases

    Adding your six main keywords/keyphrases is a crucial part of the optimisation of your advert for search engines like Google. You can add this online when you login (select 'Update my advert & add image'). A good keyword or search phrase is relevant and specific to what your business does. They should relate to what you think customers searching for the services you offer would type into a search engine. The more vague and undefined the keywords and search phrases are they less useful they will be. Whereas the more specific the keywords and search phrases are the greater chance you will receive targeted traffic to your listing.

I have updated the Touch eXtra information on my listing, how long will it take before it goes live?

Once you have filled in the Touch Extra survey and clicked 'Submit', if you are a new user, we will send you an email with a link to confirm your email address. Once you have confirmed your email address or if you have previously confirmed your email address, your Touch Extra information will go live immediately. If you do not receive this confirmation email, or if your Touch Extra does not appear, please feel free to email our client service Team and they will help click here.

I want to change my listing details, how do I do this?

You can easily change your business listing details and/or add additional detail to your listing. By logging into the MyBusiness area of TouchLocal by clicking here. You must be a registered user to enter MyBusiness. If you have not yet registered to take full advantage of your Touch Local Free Listing, please register now so you can change your listing details. Please note that additions and deletions are not automatic, they are processed through our client service Team to protect our listed businesses from malicious acts by third parties. You can expect your modifications to go live on the site within 1-3 working days.

Can I see how many visits I have received from Touch Local?

Yes, you can log into MyBusiness using your login details and click on Traffic Stats to view how many visits to your website you have received from Touch Local. LeadFinder clients will also receive monthly stat reports sent via email.

I know of a business that is no longer operating, but it's not my business, can I request for it to be removed?

Yes. If the information is invalid you can submit a listing for deletion. Please contact our client service Team giving the reasons for deletion.

The map feature in my listing is showing the wrong location, what can I do?

Unfortunately we are only able to define location down to the center of a full postcode, so if the postcode is large, the pointer will indicate the center of the post code which may not correspond precisely with the exact location of a business. This technical limitation is shared by most online mapping services at present. Google and Yell, for example, both have the same limitation. We update our mapping technology regularly and once the available mapping service are able to provider greater precision, we will be able to do so as well.

How do I get invoices reflecting my purchases?

All invoices including VAT detail will be available from your My Purchases page in the MyBusiness area. You will also be able to download invoices from previous purchases. If you still have problems finding invoices for your purchases please contact our client Sevices Team.

How does the Customer Review system work?

Users of our website are encouraged to leave reviews of the businesses that they have used. In order to post a review a user must have registered with us. This is a simple enough task, in order to register please click here. If someone feels that the review is unfair or malicious we encourage them to flag the review for deletion and leave the reason why they feel the review should be deleted. Our Review system is automated and uses a filter so we do not judge the content of the review posted.

We aim to serve as an impartial and unbiased online local source of information for over 4 million unique monthly visitors by publishing customer reviews. We know that word of mouth marketing and customer testimonials are a powerful source of advertising and wish to give visitors a platform to express their views on our businesses listed while at the same time promoting the ones they review favourably.
