Review: Energy Roofing
Energy roofing reroofed my semi detached bungalow in February 2024.The original quote was for £8000 then went up to £8.500. I was told to pay £9000 cash on completion due to rotten wood I was not shown any evidence of despite asking for photos. Now been told I owe at least £1300 for additional rotten wood and haven’t paid for fascias, soffits & gutters despite being listed on the quote. They caused over £1000 worth of damage to my house including smashed UPVC door & windowsill and left front rainwater downpipe completely blocked with bits of broken roof tiles. Also, piles of old wood, roofing felt, rubble and broken roof tiles left in the attic even though quote said removal of all rubbish included. They refuse to accept any responsibility for the damages. They failed to install roof vents and block ends as I had asked for and black gutters were put up instead of white which I had ordered. The gutters were leaking all around the house from the day they were installed but they deny this despite me sending video of leaking gutters. They cut a weight bearing joist in the attic without putting support in place. A surveyor has inspected the roof and informed me it is essential the cut joint is supported ASAP and roof vents & block ends be installed. They also left two holes in the fascia which allowed mice to access the attic. I contacted trading standards and they are filing a report on this company but unable to help and told me poor workmanship is not a crime. The company is still chasing me for £1300 which I am refusing to pay due to damages and poor workmanship. I am now having to pay other companies to resolve problems and seeking legal advice as advised by trading standards . I recommend you don’t touch this company with a barge pole. I would have given no stars if I could.
