As a professional Chef, I truly believe the suppliers and contractors we work with can make or break our business. A good supplier will provide you with the fresh, traceable, quality ingredients that your food business needs to thrive. A good contractor will provide a quality led service that gets you where you need to be while causing as little disruption as possible. I first came across 24/7 Elite Clean while Leading the kitchen at Portvadie Marina. The remit was a multiple kitchen canopy clean. Guests were staying on site during the work which due to business needs had to be undertaken during the night. The friendly team from 24/7 Elite Clean arrived on site about an hour before the work was due to start to receive a full site familiarisation brief which included a full explanation that we were a five-star marina with hundreds of guests staying overnight. Noise and disruption were to be kept to a minimum but the canopy clean still had to meet current legislative standards. I personally stayed overnight that night to ensure no issues arose during the work and tentatively turned in for the night, leaving 24/7 Elite Clean to get on with the job. In the morning reception reported no complaints from noise or disruption during the night works – senior management were relieved – and the canopy systems were looking almost brand new. The Elite Clean team done a marvellous job inside the duct work too, I know this because they supplied comprehensive before and after pictures for me to file in the health and safety folder. The canopies extract function was greatly improved and as a result the kitchens were running cooler with less extract noise. All legislative certification was provided by 24/7 Elite Clean and a running maintenance contract was agreed. More recently I took on a re-opening project for a tired Glasgow hotel. The Swallow Hotel in Paisley Road West was to be re-branded to GoGlasgow Urban Hotel and I was put in charge of the back of house refurbishment with some initial operational responsibility for other areas in the property. It became clear we would have to bring on board a flexible can do attitude contractor to take care of all back of house cleaning including canopies, ducting and general kitchen deep clean to prepare for opening. The timescales were very tight when 24/7 Elite Clean came on board, around 6 weeks till opening. The kitchen duct work was a real state from the years of neglect and had the added complication of having no maintenance panels installed to facilitate cleaning. 24/7 Elite Clean cut new maintenance panels, even having to cut through brick walls and work at heights. All the work was completed to a good standard and with minimum disruption to all the other refurbishment work going on. The drains were also identified as an ongoing problem area with the kitchen one flooding any time water was turned on 24/7 Elite Clean recommended a full flush through and the installation of 2 grease pak systems, The drainage problems never returned and they done us a great price on a year’s worth of the grease pak fluid which I was able to buy as part of the project’s capital expenditure. 24/7 Elite Clean also fulfilled a large contract to re-instate all 126 bedrooms to a working saleable standard within a 2-week timescale. This involved cleaning all the rooms from ceiling to floor after substantial building, plumbing and finishing work. The room clean contract was completed ahead of time to a professionally audited standard which enabled us to open the hotel almost a full week ahead of Crerar Hotels head office estimated timescale. I also do freelance consultancy for independent hoteliers and restaurants and have used 24/7 Elite Clean to help get back of the house standards back to current legislative standards. This has proved cost and time effective and enables the Chefs and management teams to concentrate on guest satisfaction in the safe knowledge that the kitchen is clean, safe and the extraction system will no longer be a fire risk 24-7 Elite Clean really has been a one stop shop for all my kitchen and canopy cleaning requirements over the last 6 years and I look forward to continue working with them to ensure the properties I work with are clean and safe.
