Over charged and won't rectify

I caught a taxi on Saturday 7th Feb 2015 at 6.35pm from Premier inn Crewe postcode CW16FX and travelled to Crewe Hall postcode CW16UZ. I googled it and the trip is 1.9 miles. When we got to Crewe Hall he said it was £8 which I thought was expensive as everyone else had told me they'd paid £6 with other taxi firms but I paid it anyway. I gave him £20 and he gave my £2 change. Without realising he'd actually charged me £18 for less than 2 miles. It was only once I got inside I realised. I called up right away and was told the driver had finished now even though in the taxi he told us he was on all night. They said they'd call us back once he'd cashed up, but they never did. I called the next day, Sunday 8th and they told me he wasn't working until tomorrow (Monday) but they did say that he cashed up and was £10 over and that he remembered us and realised he'd not given us the correct change. I called Monday and they said he would drop it into Crewe Hall tomorrow (Tuesday) Tuesday came and he still hadn't dropped it in. And they said he would drop it in tomorrow (Wednesday) as he does a drop at Crewe Hall every Wednesday. Wednesday came and they still haven't dropped it in. This isn't about the £10 it's a matter of principle and the fact that it feels like they do this a lot as they seemed to know who it was straight away when I called.
