Would you like to Reduce yourFuel Consumption? Most tyres are filled with compressed air, which when dry consists of about 78percent nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen and 1 percent other gasses by volume.Water vapour (humidity) can make up to as much as 5 percent of the volume.Filling your tyres with nitrogen mainly does two things:1) it eliminates moisture2) replaces small oxygen molecules with big nitrogen molecules, reducing therate at which compressed gas diffuses through porous tyre wallThat means, theoretically, that a tyre filled with big nitrogen retains optimalpressure longer, leading to more uniform tyre wear and better gas millage. So, the advantages are:- reduced fuel consumption- increased life of tyre- increased safety and comfort of a journey- ecological note - by using nitrogen, you can keep tyres in a better conditionso at the end of their life cycle, they can be more easily reconditioned, leadingto a substantial reduction in the type of waste. For learner drivers driving lessons or more advanced driving lessons to reduce the wear and tear on your car and reduce fuel consumption visit www.acclaimdriving.com or email email@example.com
Independent DrivingPossible changes in learning to drive for more information visit www.acclaimdriving.com The DSA has commissioned research to assess the feasibility of including independent driving in the practical driving test. This is part of a research programme to build up a robust evidence base for the changes proposed in the Learning to Drive Consultation Paper. The research originated from concerns that learner drivers are not experiencing the full range of ‘real driving' in their training and testing that they could expect to encounter after passing their driving test. In particular, it is considered that being accompanied by an experienced driver whilst on the road reduces the need for the learner driver to make independent decisions about their driving. DSA is investigating driving element into the assessment process to improve driver safety standards and ease the transition from learner to qualified driver. Results from the initial trials conducted at the DSA training Centre in Cardington indicated more research was required. Working with the Transport Research Laboratory, further trials will be taking place from January to March 2009 at seven test centres across Great Britain ( Bolton, Bangor, Chertsey, Hendon, Dorchester, Dundee and Leicester). This will involve learner drivers of all ages and backgrounds taking part in a driving event containing independent driving exercises.Final decisions on the implementation of independent driving will be made in light of the outcome of the research and feedback provided though the Learning to Drive consultation. For more information visit www.acclaimdriving.com or email firstname.lastname@example.org
