Given that most music places in central London seem to be getting a facelift (re Ronnie Scotts), it is kinda nice to have these old-school sort of live music haunts. 'Aint nothing but...' is a smallish, dirty-looking bar (in a nice way!), where you can feel easily at home. It gets very busy though, so try to get there early.

The Ronnie Scott's of the Blues - and it's not just the slow 12-bar my-cat-ran-off-with-the-milkman stuff - you are just as likely to hear the more hard-edged, rock-y, Jimi Hendrix-y stuff as well. One night I went in with some music-loving buddies; it was packed to the hilt, the band was on top form and the crowd were in party mode - the joint, as they say in Bluesville, was literally jumping. If you know of it's better then please feel free to tell me.

If you are a Blues lover, then this is just the place for you! They have live performances every night, and they are open late most nights. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. The Blues Bar has a fantastic vibe. The décor is cool, with the walls covered with music sheets of actual Blues songs from some of the greatest artists, like B.B King!!!The only sad fact is that the place is very tiny. Unless you arrive very early, expect to queue and be a little squashed. Must admit though, that has never stopped me; I do truly enjoy the Blues!
