It has been 20 years since I have been using Reiki for healing, using it on others and myself.
One thing I have never got my head around is how it has become distored, such as incorporating angels, egyptian methods, plus many other ways into the original Reiki ways and attunements.
I, myself have learned the original teachings of the japanese way, of doctor Mikao usui sensei.
It all started with Mikao usui
He was born in 1865, and died in the March 1926, it was said he passed away after having a stroke.
Usui embarked on a journey to learn christian teachings at the university of chicago.
Therefore as he was studying about christianity, this is where he discovered about the fact of christ laying on of hands, and healing the sick.

Moving on, Usui spent time with zen buddhists, in his pursuit to try to find some evidential pieces of material to try to decipher the ancient language sanskrit, finally the sanskrit was revealed.

Close to the Kyoto region in Japan, usui climbed a mountain called mount kurama. There he stayed and meditated for 21 days The insight he received enlightened him, within the meditation, symbols were given
to him, he utilised these symbols within the healing of people and had some pretty amazing results.
reiki was born.

There are areas of the body, starting from head to toe. The chakra system consists of seven major energy centres, Our bodies contain the main seven chakras situated in the crown of the head, third eye throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral chakra, and the base chakra. There are many other small energy centres like this at certain points in the body also. Without these, the human body is useless, these important energy centres, is what connects us to the universe, known as universal life force energy. These are small ever turning wheels of energy, known in the ancient sanskrit language as chakra, meaning wheel.
When the chakra is opened up during a meditation, this connects us, and we are able to work on each other on the chakras to give healing using hands on techniques or there are reiki symbols to use the distance healing techniques, i use both.
