This is one of the best italian restaurants in preston especially for a group booking. They have the space for large parties and a bit of a disco afterwards down in the bar. This gives you the opportunity to have a bit of a boogie or stay at your table for a but of a chit chat. The waiters are friendly, the service is excellent and the prices are as chaep as anywhere else. Food is definately up to scratch and the mexicana pizza is hot hot hot. Plenty of non pizza/pasta dishes to choose from. There is plenty of parking outside and just near the restaurant for the evening and most of it is free. Aftrewards there is also loads of night life in the town centre to chose from. You will have a good night out at this place. I have taken a group of 30 there every year for the ast few years and my daughter regularly does the same.

A disappointing Italian

Service

Quality

I travel around the country quite a bit on business and normally reckon that the best place to eat is a local family run Italian restaurant. So I tracked Angelo's down on the web and on a rather wet Tuesday night in Preston set out from my hotel with high hopes.I walked in at 8pm and the place was completely empty. I mean, not a solitary soul in evidence! In the hour or so that I was there no-one else came in. The decor was pleasant enough and the service was quite friendly. At one point they turned the music up to a point where is was intrusive (I had brought a book with me)and I asked them to turn it down. They did - only to turn it up again 5 minutes later, by which time I had finished my main course and decided not to stay any longer...I felt like some wine and was disappointed that there were no half bottles or carafes of house wine available. I was offered only a Pinot Grigot by the glass - it was perfectly drinkable.I ordered 'Spicy Chicken Wings in a Garlic and Chilli Sauce' for starters. Very disappointing - I am almost certain that the wings had just been microwaved - they had no colour to them, were not tender and had little flavour - and then the sauce poured over the top. It appeared to be a tomato and onion sauce but there was little evidence of garlic, no evidence of chilli, and it was not in the least spicy.I had Lasagne for the main course. It came in an oval bowl which had obviously been in the oven so many times that it had burned on food all around the rim and edge. This quite put me off because it just didn't look clean. The pasta was burned to the bottom of the bowl and had very little flavour.I didn't stay for dessert and rather wished I had stayed in the dry and eaten at the Holiday Inn!
