I had a real difficulty, minor children and my wife had just passed away. I needed to sell my French house. I did not want to go there anymore without my wife. yet the way we owed it 50 50 I thought seems as it turned out was by means of what I now know to be the French ownership regime of separation. Apparently this is the way most English couples receive the ownership of the property in France from the French notaire it turns out that this is not only not desirable to own in this way but in my circumstances it rendered it almost impossible to sell without long involved legal process here in U K. the children being under 18 : cost upward of 15 K and a high court order taking two years. I went to several solicitors here and researched on the net then I had three attempts to sell through agents and notaire's in France only to fail at the last moment each time as we came across the same problem i.e. The children were owners through inheritance from my wife yet they could not sell until they were 18 then I found Anglo French law They dealt with it for me inexpensively and in the time frame of a normal conveyance we completed about a month ago Gave me back peace of mind and some badly needed funds I wish to express may sincerest thanks, highly recommended . if I had taken independent advice at the start as opposed to relying on what the agent had said the problem would have never existed M P Notts
