No sense of hospitality

The staff / owners seem to think that as they have a steady stream of visitors that they do not have to treat customers with courtesy or respect. We were made to feel that we a burden to their daily routine; and an irritation in their day. The owner failed to communicate. She did not listen or give clear information as she was so busy rushing the interaction. People are different and have different needs. No attempt was made to understand what these may be. We were felt that we were purely there to fit into their very strict routines and schedules. There was no care or thought about producing a comfortable stay. The breakfast is strictly 7.30 to 8.30, even on the weekends. No access to cereals, tea or toast after this time. Check out is an astonishingly early 10.15am. The only reason for this seemed to be cutting down on staff costs. The room was nice, noisy at the front, and we presume quiet at the back. There was a good sized flat screen and a nice shower and bathroom. Perhaps all the penny pinching is to pay for these. There was x2 tea bags in the room and the milk carton expiry was March 2010. The breakfast brioche in packets were similarly expired ! The place was dusty. There was a £5 surcharge for paying by credit card / debit card. The four posters look good on the website but are a bit embarrassing in reality. All in all, the nice shower and TV doesn't make up for the lack of hospitality, coldness bordering on rudeness and absence of kindness and care. I would advise other visitors to go and find somewhere else nice and welcoming to stay. Lets hope they read the reviews and mend their ways. I doubt they will though. The guests, who are their bread and butter seem to be the things that annoys them the most. We will find somewhere else to stay in the future.
