Very professional, friendly and helpful staff! As a husky owner I know how demanding this breed is to care for. Our husky has stayed at several dog kennels before but I would highly recommend Applemore kennels. Our husky has stayed here before on several occasions either for day boarding and longer periods of time and each time our dog comes back happy and well groomed.

I have used these kennels now for 7 years and my dog has always come out of there happy. More recently, with the new owners, he has loved going in! The staff here who I believe are the owners are really welcoming. They know your dog. They know their needs and diet. They bath your dog for your return and sometimes more than once if they are are there more than a week. The kennels have been improved as has all the place however it has always been about the dogs/cats and I believe you wouldn't find anywhere more caring than Applemore kennels. Well done to you!

We have used Applemore Kennels for many years, initially for our dog, who sadly died 4 years ago and now for our two cats. We have never had cause to be unhappy with it but it is noticeable how much the place has been smartened up and modernized. Good luck to the new team who have put a lot of effort into making gradual changes for the better. I hope the business goes on to flourish and be well used by local. Thank you.

We have left our 2 dogs (labs) and 2 pedigree cats here on five occasions during the last year, which says it all. They are always very happy to stay, we'll cared for and come back clean and healthy. The staff are very friendly and caring and provide excellent customer service. There are nearer places to leave our pets, but it's well worth the drive to leave them here. We will be back yet again in the summer!

The new owners have really made great efforts to tidy the kennels up and improve service. Our collie has always liked going there, but now he runs in as soon as I take the lead off and he always comes back freshly bathed and smelling sweet. I have no hesitation in recommending Applemore as it is a very welcoming place and the staff are really kind and helpful.

Our dogs have always seemed happy to be left at Applemore. Our previous dog ( a cocker spaniel) was a real home comfort creature. especially in his final years, but was never a problem to board. Our 4 year cocker is either running for all she's worth or relaxing in her basket : but again she is happy to trot off when we have to leave her in the kennels. She often comes back shampooed ( depends how long she's there for ) which is a lovely bonus. The place has really been smartened up in the last 12 months and has a much more 'cared for' look and feel about it. The same kennel staff seem to be around and seem to know the dogs : it works well for us and the new owners are clearly trying very hard to operate at the highest standards.

I take my two dogs (australian shepherds) which are my prize possessions to Applemore, Each time i collect them they have always been bathed and brushed so smell exquisite. They are always fed on their same diet they have at home which i supply myself because you can only get it on-line so i get money off the bill for this. They need to be fed on the food i supply due to being show dogs and also need lots of exercise to stay the correct weight, which they get from Applemore kennels having weighed them a couple of times after their stay. The Managers seem lovely each time i drop/pick-up my dogs i always feel welcomed and we always spend a while talking about what my dogs have been up to during their stay. The new owners have taken over since March 2012 and have been refurbishing many of the kennels and also the cattery has been re-built. I would definitely recommend Applemore for being the best kennels i have been to by far! I really enjoy taking my dogs there knowing they will be looked after and will be happy to stay there.

Firstly, I need to point out that the negative reviews on this site pre-date the current team, and therefore reflect badly on a brilliant business that deserves more than 5 stars! I have used several kennels and catteries in the past, and would never leave my animals anywhere else now. I have 2 cats (one of which is high maintenance, needing a prescription diet and medication twice daily), and a young Hovawart dog who throws 45kg behind his puppy bounce. Nothing, and I mean nothing, seems to phase Carl and Steph, who are professional, helpful and only seem to exist for the wellbeing and happiness of the animals they care for. No matter what the weather is doing, you can be 100% sure that you will get a lovely sunny welcome from them when you arrive. My dog almost pulls me off my feet in his enthusiasm to see them again! Not only that, but he comes home bathed and fluffy, and smelling absolutely gorgeous! I would wholeheartedly recommend Applemore Kennels and Cattery to anyone who loves their animals and wants to go away feeling confident that they are well cared for, medicated correctly when required, and given the care and attention that they deserve.

Having been to other kennels and then going here, you realise how horrific this place is. The animals aren't looked after properly and the bedding is very infrequently washed (let alone after each animal's stay). The dogs barely get walked (about 3 minutes twice a day) and so spend their entire time barking and distressed. On top of this, veterinary attention isn't sought when it should be. All the manager cares about is money and Debra's review is 100% accurate! Please please don't put your animals in boarding here, there are much nicer kennels/catteries where they actually care for your pets. One of the policies here is not being allowed to take your dog to the kennel it's staying in supposedly because its too upsetting for the dog to do this. Think about it and you realise it's really because they don't want to show you how this place really is.

After being met at the gate by the manager who looked even more untidy than the entrance of the reception we found him to be rude and not really interested except for to say it's £10 a day. We were looking round because we were wanting somewhere local to leave our much loved little dog, however looking around I thought after only two minutes that with the overpowering barking and smell there was not a chance in hell that I would use this place EVER. He proceded to show my husband where the dogs use to go for a poo, this area looked as though it has not been cleaned for days, (or even weeks )and when you think there are 60 dogs there. What about the web site where I had read about such 'care and lovely acres of running and walks for your pet?' Don't get me wrong, if you want something dirty but cheap and you really don't care where you dump your pet then this is for you, however if you are like me and care about where you are leaving them then get the hell out of there,I was already back in the car before my husband had finished talking to him, we both agreed, Never in a million years. Yuk!

I have a 2 year old chocolate lab called molly who absoloutely loves it at applmore kennels! She always barks with excitement when we arrive in the car park and just loves playing with the staff and barking at all the other dogs. She is always clean after her stay and smells wonderful! The price is very reasonable for around the clock care for my dog and i completely trust the staff with looking after my molly. Thank you very much Applemore! Molly looks forward to her next stay!

I have always found the staff here to be excellent and the service is second to none. My Bassett hound Henry enjoys going to Applemore Kennels. Due to his age and state of mind we are unable to leave him at home on his own and we will regularly use Applemore kennels for a night out or even daytimes as well.

Our Springer Spaniel Ruby was boarding for one week. Before she went into Applemore kennels she was hyper all the time, chewed anything that took her fancy, pooed and peed on the decking in our garden a zillion times aday. Since picking her up two weeks ago, she is now much calmer, not chewing anything and only peeing and poohing when out on a walk. Applemore Kennel staff have got her into a routine for which I will be forever grateful. I think her stint in kennels calmed her immensley. Thanks Applemore!
