Hi Richard, hope this finds you well. As promised, at last here are the photos of the finished article. Your chaps did an excellent job of removing the existing mantelpiece and hearth, preparing and lining the chimney, and installing all new. All of this was done in just one day, with hardly any mess and that was cleared away by them - when they left it looked like elves had been in and changed everything magically! The new burner is fantastic and especially in the current never ending winter! We are still getting to grips with getting a great fire going, it's still hit and miss between roaring and petering out unexpectedly, but it's great fun and poking the fire is our new hobby. We would like to say thank you to you personally for all your invaluable help and good advice throughout each stage of the process. We knew we wanted a log burner but apart from that we had very little idea what else would be suitable. You showed us many different mantelpieces and surrounds in order to find the right match for our living room, and your advice was sound on a technical level, but I also appreciated your personal opinions as a more objective view. I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for a new fireplace and look forward to seeing you again next year for recommendations as to chimney sweeps and maintenance of our lovely new fire.
