Stay Away from these People!

ITS A PITY YOU CANT PUT ZERO STARS AS I WOULD HAVE. WARNING don’t buy a car from these cowboys and certainly don’t trust anything the owner Bryn says. We went to buy a small car for my daughter and picked a nice Astra. The owner would not do any deals but offered a warranty if anything went wrong to which I was happy with as you never know with a second-hand car. His salesman also said it’s far better to buy from a garage than privately as at least you will have some security from a so-called reputable company. (Joke!) When we got home we booked the car in for a full service with someone we have used for all our cars for years. He pointed out that the timing chain was rattling and that the tappets were making a noise. On closer inspection, the chain was indeed worn and due to the fact, there was no record of a chain being replaced in the service book we paid for this to be done. The tappets, however, were still an issue and I spoke to Bryn where we bought the car from about this. He said that there wasn’t a tappet problem at all with the car when it left and I should not have got the car serviced elsewhere????? In the end we took the car to him and he was not prepared to even look at the tappet problem a wasted journey, fuel and time. Now bear in mind here that the owner Bryn said that he was a fully qualified mechanic, (yet get this) he could not even find out how to pop the bonnet!! We showed him photos of the work that was done and the worn chain but he was not interested. All he kept going on about was that there was not enough water in the coolant reservoir and that had caused the tapping noise. This is total rubbish as the coolant had indeed dropped a small amount after the service and this can happen after the system has been drained. Since topping it up it has not gone down and it certainly doesn’t affect the tappets! I have worked in the motor industry for 15 years and this is your typical cowboy car sales company. All they want is your money and don’t give a damn about after service. Deal with these people at your own peril!!!
