Restaurant - Italian in London
1 Cowcross Street
London
Greater London

I popped in here for a meal with a couple of friends last night. 3 starters, 3 mains, 1 beer and a bottle of white wine came in at just under £50! Not 5 stars because it is a bit cramped and you have to go virtually through the kitchen and down some stairs to reach the toilet.

I used to love this place for its lack of pretentious staff and cheap but hearty food. Recently have noticed changes in attitude and quality of food. My last (eveer) visit) was when we took my girlfriends parents and we were served a smelly fish and the rissotto looked like porridge. Owner was in denial rather than apologetic and still had dare to charge full price inc. service. Awful! I will not go back ... a shame really as he had a good thing going and it was his to lose. and he did lose it!

I love this place! Small and very friendly. Feels more like they are having you for dinner at their home than a restaurant, and the food is terrific!
