AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!

Firstly, I consider myself mid ground when it comes to my knowledge of cars, having worked on my own cars over the last 10 years. Upon realising there was a fault with the engine of my VW, I thought it wise to take it to a 'VW specialist'. I knew the cylinders were misfiring, and this was diagnosed by the garage. After we a greed on a price to fix the problem, the work started, however, after numerous calls, I hadn't received the courtesy car that the garage had promised me throughout the repairs. The next day I received a call from Fred, the owner. 'There's been a problem'. 'We;ve managed to snap one of the bolts in the head of the engine, and are unable to get it out, therefore, you'll need to buy another engine' As I dropped of the car in full running order, I felt it was the responsibility of the garage to sort out the problem, not myself. Upon raising this thought, I was told 'its nothing to do with us, I didn't know it was going to happen. If you want to rolls it away as it is, non-running, on a trailer, the costs upto now are £250' So after £250 later I would be left with a car that's now a non-runner. After a call today to both trading standards in Preston and my solicitor, I've had it confirmed that he actually is responsible for negligence as he took on a contract to fix the car, knowing full well the roles involved in removing the head off the car, and the associated bolts. I'm now in a legal process with the garage to prove they're responsible for the engine for negligence and all other costs associated upto this point, car rental etc. I MUST warn you severely, DO NOT use this garage! Trading standards have informed me that they're well known for putting people in this same situation of doubling costs etc. I've been informed today that a customer took his car in for a routine repair, agreed a price with the garage. Upon completion, tried to collect his car, to realise the bill had increased over £300! After numerous conversations on work that was done that was NOT agreed, the garage refused to lower the bill, or offer the car back until the new increased bill was settled. DO NOT USE! ITS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE, FIND A REPUTABLE GARAGE THROUGH TRADING STANDARDS
