Who Are We?

Autowash Engineering is a family run business, Established in 1973 under the name of Melbros Electrical. The company designed, manufactured and installed electrical control panels providing automation of factory production lines. The key skill of automation control led to work within the carwash industry and soon became the core of the business. This prompted the change of name in 1984 to Autowash Engineering Limited.


By now the company was established in the manufacture of both carwash and commercial vehicle washing machines. In time production of carwashes was abandoned to concentrate with larger commercial vehicle washes, being the first company to standardise their brush wash machine to accommodate the new, taller 'Double Decker Trailers'.

Whilst these changes in manufacture were taking place one procedure was unchanged. That was providing the best possible after sales service, not only for our own machines but also offering service solutions and improvements for equipment supplied by other companies.

Recent Developments

In 1996 we teamed up with Brendeck Limited in the supply of our brush wash equipment, which allowed us to concentrate on research and development whilst Brendeck marketed our products. This has proved to be a success through many machine improvements and by securing a number of national contracts with large supermarkets and major logistics companies.

As you can see from our brief history Autowash Engineering is a company that has constantly evolved to respond best to the requirements of the vehicle washing industry. Now in our second generation of management we offer a one-stop solution for the supply or service of brush wash machines, water recycling equipment and pressure washers. Never losing sight of our main objective, to providing a higher level of service and customer satisfaction at a competitive cost.
