Disaster
Our experience with Avondale was far from perfect. We found the landlady rude with a blatant disregard for guests. When booking we were promised a child friendly apartment with a fun atmosphere. This was far from the truth. We had other family visiting with us and when they tried to visit us in the apartments they were treated with disgusting disrespect even though they showed politeness. There was children with us and because we were promised a child friendly environment we were then penalised for noise which was during the day not night. Please bear in mind that most are under 7 years old. Of course if we were spoken to about the noise in a polite manner we would have insured that children were a little quieter. In contrast we were ‘posted’ through our door one morning an extremely unprofessional and aggressive hand written letter. The letter informed us that we were allowed no guests at all and that we were upsetting her paying guests. What about us? There was no warning or polite conversation. It almost felt like we were back in school being sent out of class for bad behaviour. Honestly I am disgusted by the landlady sheer inability to treat her guests with respect and take into consideration that they are on HOLIDAY and therefore want to have a good time. She in fact ruined our holiday and there is no chance in hell I will ever recommend anyone with children staying at the Avondale. To be honest we felt as though their was some kind of prejudice towards our group, I hate to say it but it honestly felt that way. I will never stay there again, on our return after a horrible stay we then received another hand written letter demanding money for damages we did not afflict on the apartments and we have photographic evidence of this and we were threatened with court for a measly £34 and didn't even inform us how to pay or send us any evidence that it was in fact our mistake. The landlady referred to us leaving the rooms in a state, by leaving 2 coffee cups and a small pan in the sink in the rush to leave back to London. I am disgusted at the sheer lack on consideration and unprofessionalism of the letters and attitude we received on our stay. Our group was of mixed origin and different ages.
