FOOD POISONING
FOOD POISONING - APRIL 2009 I went to this restaurant on Sunday 05/04 in a group. Like others, we experienced poor service - there simply wasn't enough staff, so there was a lot of waiting and 'one minute' from the very hurried waiters. Two were curt to the point of being rude. One spilled a half full glass of wine directly onto my lap; thankfully there was still a napkin in place. However there was no genuine apology or offer for the wine to be refilled. Most concerning though - I have been suffering with stomach cramps and diarrhoea since, even one week on! It spoiled my holiday the subsequent days. I ordered a prawn methi which I ate to myself. Portion was generous enough, but it wasn't piping hot in temperature and perhaps this was a symptom. I regret not mentioning this but I didn't want to make a fuss and anyway, who to? We had to wait so long for any kind of service. I am utterly convinced this curry was the culprit as I hadn't eaten anything else out of the ordinary that day, and the pains/poo started only a couple of hours after the meal. I have many other complaints about this one visit (e.g., odd reluctance to serve friends drinks upon their arrival and wait in the front area where there is bar), waiters having no idea who ordered what so people were tucking into the wrong dish, no asking if we wanted dessert menus just issuing them, tired looking salad in the dips, over oily sauces.... I don't live in Oxford, but I saw there was plenty of others places to eat, so I suggest taking your hard earned cash elsewhere!

Great Food, Great Evening..
I have eaten at the Cowley Road restaurant a few times, and have always found the food to be of a high standard, and the staff extremely polite and attentive. For the benefit of any Muslim customers, the chicken is Halal but not the meat dishes unfortunately. I would recommend this place to anyone having a quiet evening for two or a party, although with all large parties you should expect things to take a little longer.

Aziz, cowley road, oxford
I have eaten at this resturant twice and have left feeling dissatisfied both times. My first visit was with my partner. The food was good but the service was appauling. The waiting staff had bad attitudes and were miserable and uninterested. We felt that they couldn't care less about us. There were also items on our bill that we did not have. When were pointed this out they did not apologise and sulked off to revise the bill. My second visit was with a party of 8 for a friends birthday. We waited 20 minutes for a waiter to come and take our drinks order (the restaurant was very quiet). He eventually arrived with the wrong drinks and did not apologise. Almost an hour later no one had come to take our food order and we had to wave over a miserable waiter. When the bill arrived and we checked it there were extra nan breads and coffees on the bill (none of us had coffee). As this is my second experience of being overcharged at Aziz I find it difficult to believe that this was a genuine mistake. We felt that they were not interested in our custom and their bad attitude couped with a series of "mistakes" ruined my friends birthday meal. There are much better (and cheaper) curry houses in the area like Karma and Star of Asia, where I will go in future!! If you do visit this restaurant CHECK YOUR BILL!!!!

Customer service? What's that?!

Great place to eat out!
I've eaten here 5 times now, and every time the food has been superb, with a varied menu, and plenty of vegetarian and side dishes. The staff are also very friendly, polite and helpful, and they cater well for large groups of people. Prices are reasonable too.
