Don't go there, please :-(

My wife and I have stayed in many Hotels across the UK and this has to be the worst one ever. We felt like sheep being herded in to be fed and watered and then rushed out by unhelpful, disrespectful staff. The whole place could do with a good clean from top to bottom, stinks of stale food and this can be smelt right up the top of the stairs. The food was lukewarm, plain and unflavoured, reminded me of badly-cooked school dinners. The staff were uncaring, most wore unironed clothes, or dirty clothing and were very unprofessional in their attitude and customer service skills. Our room was filthy, dirty mismatched furniture, incredibly uncomfortable beds, the shower had hair and scum in the plughole and the shower cubicle smelt mouldy. One of the chairs in the room had green mould growing in between the bamboo and this is where our towels were hung, not on a proper towel rail or even folded on the bed. The skirting board underneath the window had a gap in it, and there was a watermark on the wall where the rain had come in through the window, ran down the wall and the carpet was threadbare in that area. When we lifted the mattress-cover to look underneath, we were treated to a filthy, wee-stained mattress which had a sticker on it saying manufactured 2002? 8 years old mattresses in a hotel is just disgusting. We, among, many, many others on our coach trip tried to get to speak to the Manager but we were always told he was out/busy/in a meeting/interviewing staff etc and the junior staff were just fobbing us off with excuses and telling us to contact out coach company. We did that and they have now informed us that they will be removing The Balmoral Hotel, Bridlington from their 2011 Brochure. My wife got food poisoning on the third day we were there, the only food we ate was in this hotel so this just shows you what things must go on in their kitchens. I would never advise anyone to stay at this filthy, dirty place. Me and the wofe have reported the Balmoral Hotel, Bridlington to the Health and Safety Hygiene people at Brid Town Hall and made an official complaint at the Tourist Information. Avoid this place like the plague.
