Blueberry In-patient Management System (BIMS)

The Blueberry In-patient Management System (BIMS) is a web based application to manage patient traffic and bed allocation within a hospital. The system is designed to simplify the daily process of patient and bed management and to help hospitals free up valuable time to allow personnel to meet hospital performance targets. Clear, graphical displays show the location of patients within the wards of the hospital and allow staff to:

* Add notes to patients’ records
* Manage bed requests and transfers
* Write prescriptions
* Generate discharge letters

BIMS integrates with the Trust's Patient Administration System (PAS) to automatically enter patients into BIMS and to the Trust’s Active Directory login system to provide a simple login method for users. A flexible permissions system is included which limits access to the different parts of the application depending on the user’s role. Finally a reporting sub-system allows comprehensive monitoring of performance against a variety of targets.
