Nearly ruined my wedding
I had an absolutely awful experience with blush studios, almost ruined my wedding! Even now when I think of my wedding day I'm reminded of Shelley and what she has put myself and my husband through. There was many things wrong with her service, the worst being that she burnt my brand new carpet with her hair straightener, plus two dining room chairs, I confronted her at the time, but as we were already late (because she had turned up late) I didn't want the hassle so paid her anyway (£200.00 for me and four bridesmaids hair, in hindsight I really wish I hadn't). After the day we emailed her, stating that the carpet had cost us £220, so as a goodwill gesture from us, and to put the matter behind us we simply asked for a refund, she agreed and said she would send a cheque through the post (as she didn't have public liability insurance at the time). Two weeks passed no cheque, we rang her, she assured us she would send the cheque, two more weeks, no cheque. Then she stopped answering the phone and returning our emails. So by now we decided to take the legal route, we sent her an email and wrote to let her know, and to give her a chance to pay us back..... Nothing. The court ruled in our favour, ordered her to pay the cost of the carpet and the two dining room chairs and court costs, she ignored the court letters, the next step was for the court to send in the bailiffs, she told the baliiffs that shelly bates was no longer trading at that address (despite it being advertised on her website! So in conclusion it has cost us nearly £500 we still have burn marks in our carpet (as we can't afford to replace it) and the memories of my wedding are tarnished by her actions, and she has gotten away with it completely scot free! I would of given her 0 stars if I had the option, I have proof (the court papers and photos etc) I would absolutely hate for this to happen to anybody else on their wedding day!! Also she turned up late (causing me to be half an hour late to my wedding) she didn't know she was doing my hair on the day (even though it was me who had the trial) and she did mine and my bridesmaids hair exactly the same, and styled my hair completely different to the trial! So even without the burning incident I would have given her 1 star!
