Agility classes.

Borstal barkers agility classes take place on Saturday mornings from 10:00 am till 12:00. I can teach you all the aspects of agility and have a small height course especially for beginners to start training on. Once proficient on the small course, you can move onto the bigger higher course and with guidance will be able to complete a full round in 1 days session. Lots of friendly dogs attend the classes and when handlers are too tired to run anymore, all walk around the premises with dogs on a nice gentle wind down. A very friendly club who all support each other. We all like to see new dogs compete for fun and are encouraged to "have a go". It will cost you £5 for 2 hours with all the help thrown in.

Puppy training classes.

Although the kennel club states dog over a year cannot start at the puppy foundation phase, I find it very important that all dogs are started at this basic level. You can then be assured that all the rungs on the training ladder are achieved and no important steps are missed. So my first course is Puppy foundation/Bronze award combined. Dogs over a year achieve Bronze and puppies under a year achieve both puppy and Bronze. Two courses for the price of one.

Specialist Services

Results guaranteed with any request undertaken. I teach you with your dog at your premises to ensure / behaviour occurs where the problems exist. At classes, I teach Puppy foundation through to Gold standard Kennel club Good companion scheme.

Trade Bodies / Associations

Dog training courses

Borstal Barkers training club was formed in 2009 after customers wanted a formal club where standards could be achieved and graded. All courses are graded by an independent kennel club assessor at the end of the course. Each dog and handler are encouraged and advised how to train the dog in a club environment with distractions of other dogs learning at the same time. Additional tuition is given on all aspects of dog ownership with hand-outs available. Venue has recently moved to Cleave Warne hall in Borstal and Aylesford community centre. Training takes place on Monday and Friday in Borstal and Thursday in Aylesford.

I was quite nervous, ans so was my dog - we need not have been Ken was fantastic. Both I and my dog learnt a great deal. Kens classes were small to enable full one ot one with each dog and owner as well as group work. My dog Bruno loved him, as did all the other dogs. The lessons were outstanding and excellent value for money. I couldn't recommned a more professional and caring trainer. Outstanding.

Ken Parr is an outstanding dog trainer. He provided training and support for both owners and dogs. Each class size was limited to ensure each dog and owner are given maximum support and encouragement. Importantly Ken loves and respects the animals he works with - and my dog Bruno loved him.

Ken is an excellent trainer he will always listen to any worries and concerns you have with your dog and will offer you advice and help and if does not know he will find out for you it is never to much trouble. I have done the puppy foundation and puppy bronze so far and am continuing on to do the silver . He makes everyone feel welcolme.

I have trained all three of my dogs with Ken. Classes are structured but fun at the same time. Sessions on health, wellbeing and responsible dog ownership are invaluable and something I have never come across at other training clubs. People commenting on the good behaviour of my dogs out on walks etc get told about Borstal Barkers and Ken. Ken isn't in the business for the money, its for the love of dogs and training people to train dogs and that is patently obvious in every lesson.

Ken took myself and my dog on a one to one basis. Upon initial assessment, Ken noticed a lot of 'white noise' in my commands to my dog. After one lesson, my dog was responding to one word commands. I have been to other dog training classes but I would, most definitely, recommend Borstal Barkers to anyone who has a dog. An extremely professional dog trainer.
