the latest 2 reveiws are scarmongering at best and just not true, Iv worked for this shop for 7 years , and yes we are in administration and no ,none of the staff knew anything till January 6th, so of course we kept taking orders !since this all happened Im happy to say we are still open and all the girls have either recieved all the dresses/goods ordered or are waiting for their order to arrive in the next few weeks , no one has lost any money/dresses etc ,Im saddened that these individuals really didnt understand what the staff and administraters told them at the time .As staff we took a lot of abuse at the start of all this , really unfair as we were all facing redundancy, I understand the girls where upset, but if theyd taken the time and trouble to read their letters properly a lot of things would have been clear, no one has lost out due to the situation except the staff !

AVOID BRIDES BE LOVELY ARE GOING BUST

IN OCTOBER 2011 ME AND MY MUM WENT TO BRIDES BE LOVELY IN MANCHESTER AND AS ANY BRIDE TO BE IS I WAS EXCITED AT LOOKING AT THE WEDDING DRESSES. I DIDN'T EXPECT TO FIND A WEDDING DRESS ON OUR FIRST WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE BUT I DID. THE DRESS WAS NEARLY £1000 AND DUE TO DRESS STYLES CHANGING EVERY FEW MONTHS U DIDN'T WANT TO MISS OUT ON GETTING MY PERFECT DRESS. SO MY MUM PAID THE DEPOSIT WHICH WAS HALF THE AMOUNT OF THE DRESS. SO THEN LEAST I WAS GARUNTEED EVEN IF PRICE WENT UP OR WHEN I NEXT WENT FOR A FITTING THE DRESS WAS TAKEN OFF AS STYLES HAD CHANGED I'D STILL GET MY DRESS AT PRICE QUOTED ON DAY PAID DEPOSIT. ALL HAPPY WE WENT AWAY WITH OUR INVOICE AND MY VEIL. READY TO GO BACK FOR MY FIRST FITTING IN NOVEMBER THIS YEAR (2012) AS I AM NOT GETTING MARRIED TILL AUGUST NEXT YEAR (2013). THEN I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT SO DEFINATELY NEED TO WAIT FOR MY FIRST FITTING TILL NOVEMBER THIS YEAR AS BABY DUE IN JUNE AND NEED TO LOOSE SOME BABY WEIGHT BEFORE GO FOR ANY FITTING. WOMAN IN SHOP WAS FINE WITH US PAYING DEPOSIT AND THEN GOING BACK NOVEMBER THIS YEAR FOR FITTING AND PAYING THE REMAINING BALANCE. HMMMM THEN THIS MORNING MY MUM RECEIVED A LETTER FROM BRIDES BE LOVLEY, WELL THIER SOLICITOR SAYING THEY WERE GOING INTO LIQUIDATION. AND BASICALLY UNLESS I CAN GO AND GET A FITTING DONE AND PAY REST OF DRESS BEFORE 31ST JANUARY THIS YEAR(2012) WE'D LOOSE THE NEARLY £500 DEPOSIT. WHAT!!!!! THERE IS NO WAY ON EARTH I CAN GO FOR A FITTING I'M NEARLY 5 MONTH PREGNANT AND WITH A BIG BUMP. AND SECONDLY SURELY ONLY 3 1/2 MONTHS AGO BRIDES BE LOVELY KNEW THEY HAD FINACIAL DIFFICULTIES. SO WHY DID THEY CARRY ON TAKING MONEY OFF BRIDES TO BE FOR WEDDING DRESSES. FOR GOD SAKE WEDDING ARE EXPENSIVE ENOUGH WITHOUT BEING ROBBED OF NEARLY £500. AND AS FOR GETTING FITTING AND PAYING REST OF BALANCE BEFORE 31ST OF THIS MONTH OH YES I'M GOING TO REALLY GIVE BRIDES BE LOVELY EVEN MORE MONEY AND THEN MORE THAN LIKELY NOT EVEN GET MY DRESS, BRIDES BE LOVELY HUH MORE LIKE BRIDES BEWARE. THIS SHOP KNEW THEY HAD MONEY PROBLEMS AND SIMPLY SHOULD NOT OF TAKEN EVEN MORE ORDERS AND PAYMENTS FOR DRESSES WHEN BUSINESS IN TROUBLE. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF COWBOYS PLAIN DOWN RIGHT ROBBERS. AND NOW I AS WITH MANY OTHER BRIDES AND FAMILIES HAVE TO SUFFER AND LOOSE MONEY AND HAVE TO HUNT ANOTHER DRESS. AVOID THIS SHOP THEY ARE COWBOYS!!!!!

I ordered my dress in the sept ready for gretting married in the aug, but as my now husband is in the army he came back from Irack and wanted to change the wedding date to the christmas wich ment our wedding was the 6 weeks away. I went to the store to see if I could eather get a different dress or a refund as the one I had chosen n sept took 6 months to be made. They Staff were extremly understanding and arranged for me to have the 1st dress which I was delighted with. I would reccommend this store to anyone.

Some Very Rude Staff!!

Service

To cut a long story short, I had ordered a dress from Bride Be Lovely in Manchester with veil and underskirt, in March 2009 for my wedding that will be held in August next year. I had paid £200 and my order came to £900. However as a bride does, I went to the shop to view my dress and it was not there for me to view. I spoke to the Assistant and asked if I could change my order if I wanted because I had not been fitted for anything, she was very rude towards me and got a senior member of staff who told me that I could so I paid a further £100. I then went back on another occasion to view my dress and again it wasn't there and the same assistant made me feel very uncomfortable in the shop. I decided that because of the way I was being treated in the shop that I wanted to cancel my order, so i phoned up and asked if I could cancel and was told that If I did I would lose my deposit. I then said can I exchange the deposit for goods worth the amount that I paid and I was told that I could. I then went into the shop last week Sunday and explained what I was told over the phone, the lady I spoke to was very nice and explained that I could still order my veil but that I would have to pay a cancellation fee of £20. and that I coud get items for the value of my deposit, but that the manager would need to authorise this so I should call back in the week. She also advised that she would inform her about our agreement. However when I went into the shop to see the manager, I was met by the rudest person ever, who told me that under the consumer agreement the shop does not have to let me have anything. I asked if I could still have my veil and she told me no and that the only thing I could do was order another dress, which I didn't want to from this shop because I did not trust them to treat me correctly. I explained to her that I would rather cancel my order as I was unhappy with the way that I had been treated in the shop, so the outcome bride be lovely kept my money and did not let me have my veil which I had paid for , the tiara was £159. So my warning to anyone who orders anything in this shop, do not sign their order forms unless you are 100% certain because if you have any concerns or complaints about the service in the shop, they will treat you like dirt.

Daughter's Wedding Dress

Service

Quality

Value

Having purchased my daughter's wedding dress 12 months prior to wedding date, we returned for final fitting over 2 months previous to the big day. We collected the dress and were informed that the dress had been cleaned. All without our premission. We paid the alteration fee and took the dress. However on trying the dress on again with it's matching train the dress and train no longer matched. We returned both to the shop and it was agreed that the two did not match, but now the shop was denying that they had cleaned the dress. The shop found an alternative train that was a better match but would not release it without without the return of the original perfect part of the original purchase ie the train being returned. I said the train was my evidence that the dress had been cleaned. Eight days before the wedding, after making complaints to head office the shop was still refusing to release my daughter's dress and offered no compensation for my daughter having to be married in effect a "secondhand" dress. They offered her any other dress in the shop but my daughter had choosen this particular dress to be married in and did not want another one. They offered not a penny compensation for damaging my goods that were in their care. Eventually 9 days before my daughter's wedding my husband and I had to virtually stage a sit in as they were still refusing to release the dress and train. So I would wish you to take into account our experience before choosing a bridal shop.

I went to bride be lovely just on the off chance there would be sumthing in the sale as i was getting married in less than 5 months and every other bridal shop said they couldnt order a dress in time. But there wasnt anything in the sale i liked. I was talking to the assistant and she was most helpfull and did everything she could, within 1 hour i was walking out of the shop having just bought the most beautiful dress and only had to pop back for the fitting i was really happy and they made the presure and stress jusy go away. So pleasent and helpfull and most of all a really amazing range of dresses. I really would advise everyone to go and have a look.

Good quality bridal store

I visited Bride be lovely about 12 months before my wedding. I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I was allowed to try garments on without the need to book an appointment. The dresses were reasonably priced too and the store had a wide selection of gowns available to try on. There was also a selection of tiaras and veils to complete the look. This store is highly reccommended.
