After a traumatic extraction, i was left with a dry socket (v painful complication of extraction). On Xmas eve, after a cursory glane which revealed exposed bone, the dentist gave me a prescription for Ibroprofen and anti biotics, and sent me on my way..couldn't get me out of the chair quickly enough and didn't even rinse my mouth or offer a packet medicated dressing (which would have really helped administer pain relief much more quickly). I was given Codeine by my GP the same day, thank goodness..the pain was severe. To replace the gap, he told me i would have had to have a denture, he wouldn't consider a bridge. And, he would only do this after my fillings were completed, and would only do one filling per appointmemt (i need 4). I believe his decisions were cost related, as i am on benefit and get my fee's paid. I have since seen a new dentist at a different practice, and am having a bridge fitted, and all my fillings done in one appointment. Brighter smile is Dreadful, in my opinion, and i am making an official complaint, as the care i received was not helpful at all..

I have been with this practice for 3 years now and have found the staff to be very rude, I am also very unsure of the quality of treatment I have received. I have had my appointments cancelled time and time again and re-appointed, I am still waiting to finish my on-going treatment which started in April 2012. The last time I was there I was accused of not paying for treatment I had already had and was told that I needed to pay for all my outstanding work needed in advance. Once the receptionist actually gave me an opportunity to speak she looked up the records and found that I was up to date, without any apology they insisted I payed for the rest in advance. I have no problem with paying in advance, however the fact that I am unsure of when I'll get the rest of my treatment is worrying. I am currently sourcing a new dentist. This surgery is shocking!!

AWFUL that is putting it mildly !!! i need a clean polish n filling , so i go to the reception to book an appointment , after being told yet again what i need doing , im then told i have to pay £48 now or no appointment or treatment will be done , i then explain that i wasnt expecting such a huge bill to day and that i cant pay till friday (thats pay day ) so they tell me to come back ( a 10 mile round trip ) friday pay the money and then I can have an appointment !!!!!!!!! i think NOT and i will NOT be coming back . One very upset customer !

I sent my husband, who was suffering pain in silence, back to complain that, after a filling, he was still suffering pain. That was today, 6th August. He was told that, as the dentist he saw is on holiday until 20th, he would either have to wait in pain until then to be seen by her as an 'emergency', or pay again to see someone else. Altogether shocking!

Brighter Smile Dental Surgery is unprofessional. I have been with them for 5 years (ish) and stayed there because I loved the dentist that I had but he has recently left. I have had trouble with the organisational staff (receptionists) since I joined with Brighter Smile but stayed for the dentist. I have had nothing but cancellation after cancellation with that surgery. Not just the odd sickness cancellation but more than I care to remember. In addition, recently I have had 2 cancellations and to top it off the receptionist failed to contact me to tell me about the cancellation!! Unprofessional! I do not recommend this dental practice!
