Extremely disappointing service

On setting up a new business we decided that we would employ local trades, but were very badly let down by C. Blount. In brief, he did not turn up for appointments, repeatedly did not return calls, was negligent in his work and did not complete it. He was due to complete work after taking a holiday, but never returned as promised, despite being made aware of our deadlines and the need to fit in with other tradespeople. Then when he finally made contact, after we once again stressed the urgency, he made an appointment, only to cancel it in order to reschedule. After turning up to let him in, he arrived, saying that he would not then be able to work that day and with no apology, stated that he would come at a time specifically when he knew we would be away. We then requested an up to date bill, which he said he didn't have, but that he would provide. He did not do this even though we made several calls to ask that he do so. He did not respond at all and at this point, we felt that he was not trustworthy, since he had made mistakes already in the work and we did wonder why he wanted to come while we were not there. He submitted a bill, several weeks after all this and by then we had sought the service elsewhere. When confronted, he made various excuses to the point of being untruthful and refused to acknowledge any responsibility for his lapses and errant behaviour. It was very difficult to converse with him, because he basically ignored all comments and focussed on a highly selective and subjective story in his attempt to avoid an explanation to us or answers to our various questions. We simply cannot recommend this man and although we have not given an absolute detailed summary of the circumstances, would like to convey our sincere and deep disappointment in being treated so badly, especially when we, ourselves were working towards the opening of our business. As a result of this electrician, we have been delayed and also he has incurred expenses through negligence and is now refusing to acknowledge this, appearing to have a very poor memory of events. we would not wish anyone else to have such a negative experience and suggest that anyone looking for an electrician ensure that they are dealing with a properly certified and professional person or company. We have now located such a company on the market place and the difference is night and day.
