Carole was recommended by a family friend in February 2013, I had been suffering for several months with stress and anxiety at work, and I didn’t want to pick a number out the phone book so it felt better to go on a recommendation. My family and friends had been really worried about me but I didn’t realise how bad it had got until it felt like it was too late. I put these feelings down to being over loaded, working long hours, no breaks, lack of management and then sudden changes in management and structure. I had been advised by my GP to take a break from work and was signed off for several months with regular appointments to check my progress; my GP was very supportive of my sessions with Carole. Carole was a massive source of advice and reason, she helped me to come to terms with how I was feeling and to talk about it with my new boss, colleagues, friends and family members. After being off for a couple of months and working on my confidence and positive thinking skills with Carole I came to the decision to leave the company. I then applied for another job which I got; the new job was less hours and less responsibility to start to regain my confidence. Carole then helped me through the start of my new role to make sure I worked on my anxieties and how to rationalise before reacting. This enabled me to approach colleagues and my new boss with any problems or concerns I had before they got out of control. I now feel in a much better place and have slowly regained my confidence; I know and believe I have a lot to offer. I have come to the end of my regular sessions with Carole; however, I know I will keep on board all that she has taught me to help me be a stronger person in the future. Dear Carole, I would like to put into writing my great appreciation of your hard work on our behalf over the last year, and the ways in which you exceeded our expectations and made such a difference in our lives. We both love your practical methods which are easy to implement and make a habit of, and really powerful in changing behaviours. We wish we’d found you years ago ! You’ve been very generous and kind as well with your time, allowing us to overrun to conclude a session, with text reminders sometimes mid-week, flexibility about appointments, etc. Nothing was too much trouble; you’ve inspired us both to live a life of tolerance and generosity too.
