Terrible experience, avoid this broker

I was initially impressed by the friendliness and efficiency at Carrington after our first meeting about our mortgage. However, Carrington have added to the stress of buying our first house. They requested the wrong mortgage from the lender, which we initially had to pay to fix (they later deducted the lenders fee from their brokers fee). They then instructed a life insurance provider to start a policy for us, even though we had only requested a quote and had not agreed to or signed anything saying that we wished to commence the policy. Luckily we were able to cancel the policy before any payment was taken. Carrington have since apologised but I am not impressed with any of the team who made numerous errors with the spelling of our names, financial details and set up a life insurance policy. The only thing Carrington is good at is passing the buck when mistakes are made. Overall, we made a mistake by choosing Carrington as our broker.
