Appalling in every aspect

When you’re deciding upon whether to review a company as “good” or “bad” it will mainly depend on two things. Firstly, the service the Customer (you) receive when purchasing an item. Secondly, how that particular company reacts when things do not go as agreed. In the first example, you may buy an item and it would be exactly how it was described and be delivered in the condition you expected and paid for. This would naturally render the Customer to say that this company was/is “good”. However surely it’s the second example that should really define how “good” a company actually is and hold a greater weighting on any analysis. It’s the time(s) when things go “wrong”. Of course, you can argue that things may go wrong or be delayed due to circumstances outside of the two parties’ control; and that’s fine, but surely it’s a moral obligation to be forthright with such information immediately and not just remain silent? How can a Customer make a decision without all the relevant facts from the outset? This is clearly immoral, unfair and leans toward coercing by turning a potentially negative outcome (lack of sale) to get a favourable outcome (a sale) by subtle changes in implied terms and conditions. But again, surely it is the company’s immediate response and actions to such circumstances which determines whether they should be adequately praised or badly reviewed. However what about the situation when a Customer has made a legitimate purchase in good faith? Where they’ve asked all the necessary questions and carried out visual inspections and expect an open, honest and fair interaction from a seller? What happens, when you find after delivery has occurred, that it turns out that the seller is at fault and the seller hasn’t delivered what was agreed (with you). What about a company that provides such a poor standard of service, attitude, accountability, redress and care to its customers, and do very little in the hope that nobody notices (or has the inclination to care/do something about it). What happens when you are presented with companies that misrepresent in these situations? Well as you would expect, ultimately it is the Customer who suffers and it’s the organisations who continue to trade unethically. Don't just take my word for it, look at the other reviews. This is a truly deplorable organisation. Surely a company and Customer should trade fairly and respectfully? Is that to much to ask? It is therefore worth reiterating that when making a purchase… a) always be fully aware, b) get any verbal agreements in writing (signed and dated with witnesses), c) thoroughly inspect and review your item prior to handing over any payment, d) know the UK contract law and ask as many questions as you need to and e) always read the terms and conditions (small print) thoroughly before you sign anything. You may find something alarming. Taking these precautions may go some way to ensuring you get treated fairly as it’s clear that you can’t trust certain organisations.

I purchased an 07 Fiat Bravo from Carworld in early this year which was up for £5990 with just over 16k miles on the clock. I didn't like the initial service we got from the salesman who just seemed to say no to every question. Can anything be done with price, no. does the car come with tax, no etc etc. Me and my wife were desperate for a 5 door car as we had just had our first child and was struggling with the car seat in our beloved 3 door fiat stilo so we went ahead with the purchase anyway. Part ex value on our Stilo was almost half the price given by anywhere else (initial £600 where other garages had offered £1000 - £1200) but we did manage to negotiate to £800 but this was due to the car having almost a full year tax so we didn't realy gain anything. Anyway, to cut a very long story short, the car turned out to be a mess. First sign of this was on day 2 of owning the car, the engine warning light came on. Contacted CarWorld who advised to take the car in and they would take a look. Fine. On day 3, part of the exteria trim just fell off. Not a good sign at all. I took the car to my dad who is a body repair mechanic and he told me that he thought the car had been in an accident of some kind and that he didn't think the repairs were of any good quality. Based on this, we decided to call in the AA to do a comprehensive check on the car and advise. The report made very scary reading, over 50% of the cars exteria was not original and been repaired to a very poor standard. On top of this, there was a bent strut in the engine bay which made the car unsafe. There were also various other faults including cracked tyes, rear window not working and also the milage had been called into quesiton. According to the paperwork, between the last MOT in Sept 2011 and its service in Jan 2012, the car had only covered 2 miles. Very strange as I had taken the car on a 10.5 mile test drive and that was before the service.... A whole host of things come to mind while writing this review. When purchasing the car, we were told that a new battery would be fitted as it had gone flat sitting on their forcourt. The AA report advised that the battery was outputting a very low voltage and needed to be replaced.... It took weeks of arguing before I was able to get my money back. Some of the excuses where things like "The car is not unsafe" AA report says otherwise (which I did send to them). And also "Did I expect that every car on the road to be perfect and not have minor cosmetic work done". This was not minor by any means. If you ask me, they are a bunch of thieves and are not interested in customer service at all. The General Manager can be quite agressive over the phone but then is nice a pie 2 mins later. Originally I asked for my money and my car that I part ex'd but was told I could not have my Stilo back as it had been sold on. Strange as I have seen my car for sale at another garage owned by the same person on sale for £2500 (They paid me £800 for it so no wonder they didn't want to give me that back) Please please please do not buy a car from here. There are a lot fo other very credable garages out there. But if you must buy from here, please pay the extra to have a full AA report done before you hand over any cash. I feel that I could go on about this and I have really, please ensure that you read every review possible before making up your mind. There are some real bad ones that I have read since having issues.

I bought a 06 Reg Corolla SR 49,000 two years ago. When I viewed the car I gave them a list of things I want doing to it before I buy, this included minor things like an aerial and a rubber grip on the clutch pedal and new wiper blades. I returned the car once to them about a week after buying because the rubber seal around the driver window was not sticking they fixed this no questions asked. The customer service was good. It's been nearly 2 years now and my car has been very reliable, I have had to change the brake pads and disks but I expected that as the car has done 60,000. They would have got 5 stars if when I viewed the car it had an aerial and clutch grip - I did find that to be a bit stingy, if I weren;'t in such a desperate situation I would have gone elsewhere based on this, however, I'm glad I didn't and now I have a good car that is very reliable - hard to come by these days. I certainly recommend.

As a recently divorced woman I was wary about looking for a car on my own. So I decided to do all my searching on the internet first. After narrowing down to a handful of cars. I decided to visit Carworld purely for the variety of choice at this stage. The staff let me browse on my own without anyone following me around. Still unsure of which car I approached a yound salesman (Warner). He helped me narrow the choice. The part exch price for mine was average but the car I finally chose was over £700 cheaper than the local vauxhall garage. Werner was great, he arranged for all the work we agreed to be done. I had to go back a week later as my key stopped working. they changed the battery - been fine since. I would go back

1st Steer clear of this place.I paid a £500 minimum deposit on a car and went to pick it up 5 days later. The car was supposed to come with a full years MOT. Although the MOT provided said it had passed 2 days before, one tyre was bald, another was barely passable and the exhaust was hanging off. Every tyre was different, although when I had viewed the car earlier in the week they had all been the same treads. The salesman lied and said the MOT was not done in house (it was) and refused to refund the deposit or allow me to speak to the manager. Only after I said I would take it straight to another testing station did they renew the tyre and mend the broken bracket (both MOT failures) I took it to another test station and it failed on the headlights, the vrn lights, and the brake lights. There was an advisory note on another tyre with a cracked wall. Did they just do an emissions test and write a ticket, because they certainly did not test the vehicle. They are refusing to refund the £5790 I paid and after another argument have reluctantly agreed to replace the damaged tyre and put the lights right. No compensation or even an admittance of responsibility. There were other families with children when I was there, picking up cars being sold by salesmen with no conscience

I found buying a car from Carworld very simple. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I saved nearly £900 compared to local car dealers I visited, I will definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy a car.

car world peterborough is fine if you dont want after sales service. My coil spring broke causing a tyre blow out within six weeks of purchase. car world said i should take the car to them to look at. how could i they agreed it should not be driven. a solicitor and the govenments trading standards say car world are liable to collect and repair the car. they just refuse to do so and have a list of excuses such as i should have bought their breakdown cover. i have breakdown cover but they only take you to the nearest dealer. i only tried to claim for the parts and would fit them myself. would not even consider using them again. if your new car breaks down try and do it in their garage or chances are you will be left stranded. try to use your car around ivatt way only. they are a joke, one star is far too many
