Newborn baby photoshoot

Those first few weeks with your newborn baby go by in a flash...capture the newness of your little one with a professional newborn photoshoot and cherish those memories forever.

Cary Smart is a specialist newborn photographer, having trained with two of the foremost newborn photographers in the UK. Highly-trained in the safe posing and photographing of newborns, your baby's safety and well-being is at the heart of your photo session. Cary is a member of BANPAS and the Master Photographer's Association.

The best time to photograph your newborn is when he or she is between 5 and 14 days old, as it this time he or she is still very sleepy and curled up. For that reason, we advise that you book your newborn portrait shoot whilst you are still pregnant - we will book you into a timeframe according to your due date and then once your baby has arrived, we can book a definite date for your session. Newborn photo sessions are completely baby-led and are approximately 2-4 hours long, and take place in Cary's home studio. Approximately 10-14 days after your session, you'll be invited back to the studio to view your photographs and to order your products.

Children & family photography sessions

Fun, outdoor photo shoots that capture genuine smiles and personality, creating photographs to treasure for years to come.

These sessions take place on location - it can be somewhere that has significance for you, or I can suggest a number of places. Sessions take place in the morning or late afternoon to make the most of the best natural light - midday light is just not flattering to anybody! Children, particularly younger ones, tend to respond better during the morning and so I would strongly encourage booking morning sessions where younger children will be involved. The shoot will take approximately 1-2 hours as it's run according to the child/children's needs.

Business headshot sessions

A well-lit, clear headshot is a powerful psychological tool - the right image will convey exactly what you want in the split-second that it's seen, making the difference between someone looking a second time at your website or clicking away.

Sessions can take place at your place of work, on location, or in a studio environment. These can be individual sessions or cover a number of employees. Please contact me for my current rates.

Older baby photoshoot

As your baby grows, capture their important milestones! Whether it's smiling, giggling, sitting or standing, these baby portrait photo sessions are always lots of fun. The photoshoots are kept quite short (45 mins) and are completely baby-led, so that your baby is happy and content throughout. Sessions are held in Cary's home studio, which has plenty of props, blankets and outfits to create beautiful, timeless images to treasure.
