A little bit about us

Castle Green B&B lies in a wooded valley of the Derbyshire Dales in the picturesque Derbyshire spa town of Matlock and offers luxury Peak District accommodation to visitors throughout the whole year.

Recently opened in 2012, Castle Green is a Quality Bed & Breakfast which has been furbished to a very high standard. The B&B is run by John and Janet Green.

John is a recently retired Fire Officer while Janet has worked within Tourism and Catering sectors for many years. Both make every effort to ensure a pleasant stay and to provide and maintain the highest possible standard of service.

This delightful B&B is nestled deep in the leafy, tranquil and secluded grounds of the former Ernest Bailey mansion. Access to our large block paved car park is gained by travelling to the top of Butts Drive which is a private wooded driveway. Here you will find ample parking space and secure storage for cycles.

Castle Green B&B provides single, double and twin rooms, a premier room, plus a family suite; and is proud to be able to offer accommodation for less-mobile guests, as the B&B is very accessible, spacious and less-mobile friendly.

For less mobile guests, we have a spacious ground floor bedroom with walk in wet room and extra wide door openings.

We offer a Premier room which boasts a super-king size bed which is complimented with a luxurious wet room.

On the first floor there are single, double & twin rooms plus a family suite which sleeps 4 having a double bedroom connected to an adjoining room with full size bunk beds and an en-suite shower-room.

A short walk away is Hall Leys park on the fringe of which you will find several fine restaurants and pubs as well as shops and the market hall.

The bus and railway stations are only a short distance from us and we regularly welcome visitors using these excellent facilities.

Castle Green B&B is also conveniently located for people attending functions, conferences or weddings at the County Hall as we are within walking distance.

Matlock is an ideal location for those wishing to explore Derbyshire and the Peak District as you can reach most parts of the Peak District National Park within 30 minutes.

The Heights of Abraham & and Gulliver's Kingdom are just over a mile away in Matlock Bath and we are just a short drive from Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the village of Bakewell - home of the famous pudding.
