Ceramic Sculpture Class to create Hand Made Chess or Draughts Set or Poppies for Remembrance Day

I lead ceramic sculpture classes that will help you create your own, unique and original, ceramic chess set (or draughts, christmas decorations or poppies for Remembrance day)

NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED

You WILL NOT be using moulds to make your pieces, like the mass produced sets you see on ebay, but a hand crafted set of individual pieces made by YOUR OWN HANDS

The photo shows a set that was just made, but before smoothing or glazing, that was fantasy helmet inspired

The class is carried out over 2 days, about a week apart:

Day 1: a quick health and safety chat, demonstations on the basic principle of clay work and how to create the basic shape for your pieces and then time enough for you to make your chess set

Day two: this is a shorter day, in most cases, where you trim, smooth and make your pieces ready to be fired in the klln

I will then fire the pieces and glaze them in two colours ready for collection or posting out

There is an option for a third day's class allowing you to come in and paint the glaze on to your pieces in any style you wish to make them even more your own unique set

Perfect present or for that art work that no one else will ever have

Classes are near Alvaston, for up to 8 people (minimum of 4) and usually on a week day (weekends can be done if numbers allow) and start at about 10am and finish when you have your set complete or about 4pm in most cases

Pieces are normally about 2.5inch high but this is up to you

The cost of the 2 days course including the chess set if £60, discount for multple booking
