About

About Us

CFT Fostering limited is a small independent agency based primarily in the West Midlands. The local authorities have responsibility for placing children/young people in foster placements and there is a need to recruit more foster carers.

There are some children who will benefit and respond more positively to a family placement rather than being placed in residential care. In response to meeting the individual needs of children and giving them a choice, CFT Fostering Limited was established.

CFT Fostering Limited is regulated and inspected by Ofsted in accordance with the Fostering Minimum Standards 2002.

Our experienced staff team ensure a high quality level of support, training and supervision for all our foster carers.

CFT Fostering Limited believe in the key principles of the Children Act 1989 and seek to uphold these through our practice. We believe that the welfare of the child is paramount. We work in the best interests of children, in partnership with the Local Authority and parents of children ‘looked after'. We try to achieve positive outcomes for children which include social inclusion to become valued members of the community.
We believe in offering quality family placements to children and young people to give them the opportunity of achieving their full potential whilst living within the community. We want to offer children good, positive experiences to help them develop as adults. We believe that our foster carers must respect the needs and wishes of children and their families.

Fostering is caring for children or young people in your own home whilst their own family is unable to look after them. This may be due to family difficulties or illness. Local Authorities have a responsibility to look after children who are in need and foster care gives children the opportunity to live in a positive family environment.

Foster care can range from a few days, months or sometimes years. Most children will return to their families. However sometimes children may be fostered on a long term permanent basis.

Whilst a child or young person is being fostered, parents may still hold parental responsibility and be involved in the child or young person's life.

All children who are looked after by the Local Authorities have an allocated social worker. The social worker will be responsible for working with the child in placement, their parents and carers. They are all working together in the best interest of the children.
