Handy little shop.
I wanted four leather tools belts for the lads on site. Someone recommended this guy. Went in the shop and he ordered them for the following morning. Rang me and they were half the price I had been quoted elsewhere. Very impressed.

I knew this shop in the late 50's, a school friend of mine was a Saturday lad there in 1958. Pleased to say it hasn't changed much and has kept its old charm and first class reputation.

Fab little hardware shop. Love it. Recently returned to my parents in the Avenues after 12 years abroad working and the shop is exactly how I remembered it ! Gary even recognised me ! So much changes in retail but its reassuring to know this little gem of a shop is still bucking the trend.

Stood the test of time.
Left Hull some time ago and returned 'home' recently and I was so pleased to see some things don't change, in fact they get better with age ! Chants DIY, still full of stock, some at the same price as when I left ! and the same fella behind the counter and still as popular as ever with the locals. Love the place.

Great find!
Came across this little gem by accident when visiting Hull looking for digs. What a find ! Loads of stock, loads of choice, reasonably priced, very friendly and helpful staff too. Bought a steel shafted claw hammer, Bosch handsaw, bag of 30mm ovals, screws and plugs and still had change out of £20 !.

Back under old ownership
Lovely homely little hardware shop in the popular Avenues area of Hull. Pleased its back under the ownership of Gary, who has ran the business for over 25 years now. From memory Chants DIY has been in business since the early 60's and has only had a handful of owners with Gary being the longest and in my opinion the most popular. Everything you want at fair prices. I love the place !

One of the best.
Returned to the shop on hearing the previous owner had bought it back. Fabulous little old fashioned hardware shop ran by someone who knows the trade inside out. Nothing is too much trouble and if he hasn't got what you want in stock he will try and source you it. Very popular in the area, and a its a real joy that this sort of independent business is still alive and kicking in todays world.
