ABOUT OUR HOUSE

Perched at the top of a hill Casa Na Colina overlooks the beautiful and historic town of Tavira in the Eastern Algarve, a mere 30-minute drive from Faro airport and only 20 minutes from the Spanish border. It is a spacious, fully-equipped, newly-built, 3-bedroomed, 3-bathroomed house, with large sun terrace and a superb communal swimming pool on a small, exclusive development. Fully fitted with double glazing throughout and air conditioning / heating in all bedrooms and the lounge / dining room. The large terrace has a built-in gas barbecue and seats 6 comfortably for outdoor dining. There are also sun loungers and recliners. The house is strictly non-smoking, we do not allow pets. Children over 5 are welcome. The house is not ideal for wheelchair users as there are steps and the paths are not very easy to negotiate in a wheelchair.

ACCOMMODATION

The house has three bedrooms, all with built-in wardrobes, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The Master bedroom on the first floor has a double bed and provides access to the terrace via patio doors. The bathroom has WC and bidet with a shower over the bath. The ground-floor bedroom has a double bed and its bathroom contains WC, washbasin, and shower. The second-floor bedroom has twin beds and shower room with WC and washbasin. A hairdryer is provided in all bedrooms. The well-equipped kitchen has gas hob, electric oven, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge / freezer, filter coffee maker, ice maker, plenty of pots and pans etc. The L-shaped lounge/dining room has satellite tv/dvd/video and 2 three-seater settees. It has a traditional fireplace fitted with a gas fire and there is a mini hi-fi unit. There is a large dining table with six chairs. The large, L-shaped terrace gets the sun from about 11:00 in the morning until about 6:00 in the evening, depending on the time of year. A gas barbecue facilitates convenient and instant outdoor cooking and there is a separate set of melamine crockery and cutlery for terrace use. A sink with hot and cold water and drinks fridge underneath saves trips down to the kitchen at mealtimes, and there is sturdy and comfortable dining furniture. There are also 2 sun loungers and 2 reclining chairs for those all-important siestas. Linen and towels are provided, including beach towels for poolside and beach use. Cleaning and a change of linen/towels are provided once a week, on changeover day. An iron and ironing board are also provided.

LOCATION

Nearby are Cabanas and Pedras del Rey, both originally very small beachfront villages. Santa Luzia, taking its name from an Italian effigy of the Virgin Mary that was recovered from a shipwreck, is a very small, unspoilt village with a fort. A little further east is Cacela Velha, an old fishing village situated in the protected Ria Formosa. Perched on a rocky bluff overlooking the sea, it is one of the best-preserved seaside villages in the Algarve. Tavira has beautiful, and largely empty, beaches with sands that stretch off into the distance. Ilha de Armona (just off the coast at Olhao), Praia do Barril at Santa Luzia, Ilha de Tavira (accessed by ferry), Manta Rota, and Praia Verde are all superb and within a 10-15 minute drive.
