Welcome to The College of Central London

Qualifications are essential to gaining recognition and respect. Students from UK, EU and from all over the world want to study in London and our philosophy is to provide high standards of teaching in an environment that encourages academic achievement alongside personal development while experiencing the culture and life of a vibrant city. Find the right course for you and get student centered learning throughout your time at the college. Students must be 18 years or over to apply.

Great Teachers...

General staff and college teachers are selected for their qualifications and practical experience to enable the college to offer good quality, classroom-based education. We have a high success rate amongst those who complete a given course. Classes are small enough to enable teachers to relate to students as individuals and large enough to create a vibrant atmosphere.

Affordable Fees and Funding opportunities...

As a private college we are able to control our own fee structure and it has always been our goal to offer students quality college education at affordable fees. By controlling our own fees we aim to give students value for money when selecting us as their place of learning. Payments can be made directly to the college by cash, cheque, standing orders, bacs or online payments. Student Finance does not apply to our college.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 180 credit Extended Diploma in Business - QCF

We are still teaching the QCF programme and not the new NQF version of the National. Pearson have given us an extension to run the QCF version for another year. This is good news because it means there are no examinations in this version.
This is a great qualification to get whether it's the full Diploma (180 credits) or the Certificate with (120) credits.
You have two choices:
To attend classes and these will be held on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. The programme is fast paced and we teach 4 units every eight weeks in order to complete everything in one year.
To study by Distance learning, learners choose a less intensive pace because they are working or studying remotely which is more difficult.
Motivation is a key factor so attending is compulsory if you choose the one year option so we can constantly monitor progress and put pressure on when needed. Feedback on assignments is also immediate so there is no time lag or delay.
If you are happy attending our course twice per week and being disciplined at other times to get the work done, then this course might well be suited to you though we would like to know more about you to find out if this approach is indeed achievable. We have tutors who mix lecturing with workshop/tutorials so learners start writing up in class time and get immediate feedback. By studying with others (we have a small group), you will not be learning on your own.
Costs: Each unit is worth 10 credits.
Taught course – attendance in class. Payment of £4350 + BTEC registration (£250) for the Level 3 Extended Diploma (18 units) = total £4600.
Distance learning – NO attendance in class. Payment of £3240 + BTEC registration (£2) for the Level 3 Diploma (12 units) = total £3490.
In addition to achieving the correct number of credits, there are points awarded for the higher grades and universities will expect BTEC Level 3 students to obtain the equivalent of a mix of Distinctions and Merits to get places. These grades are converted to points and subsequently equivalent to UCAS tariff points. We will help with UCAS applications before the deadline of 15th January 2020.
All marking is objective and set against assessment criteria.
The emphasis will be on being disciplined enough to get on with the assignments with minimum tutor support. There will be time during class contact sessions to give feedback for work submitted so there is a process of continuous development. If studying by distance, you will need to dictate the pace and submit work regularly by email for feedback.

The guided number of learning hours required for the extended Diploma is 1080 hours which is 60 hours per unit The Diploma requires 720 hours. There are other variants including 30/60/90 credits. Wherever possible you will be encouraged to use the knowledge gained in your work/life experiences as evidence in the assignments.

Assessment allows for summative feedback only, but we will give guidance in the feedback marking to give you every chance to obtain the higher grades.
We are in the private sector so all students are self-funding. There is no student finance available to study this course.

BTEC Business Level 5 (RQF) - 240 Credit HND Diploma

We are now running the new RQF version of this course on a flexible basis, on demand and no longer as an intensive taught programme. We have adopted a flexible approach which enables us to focus on student centred learning to enable those who work hard to finish quicker.
The distance and blended learning process removes the burden of students having to attend regular classroom sessions to a scheduled timetable. Instead students can learn at their own pace in the comfort of their own surrounds and yet still have contact with a tutor at specific times via GoToMeeting or through face to face sessions. This is especially important when considering how to fit learning around the need to work.
If you are happy with a distance and/or blended learning approach, then this course might well be suited to you.
Each unit is worth 15 credits and costs £180 per unit. You can pay as you go. BTEC registration is £250 for the Diploma.
This flexi basis of learning suits some people because its saves time and money. You will have to sacrifice in depth learning which takes hours of research, for more assessment focus. Ultimately you will not
achieve the Diploma if you become expert on business strategy, for example, but will if you understand enough to pass each of the assignments, thereby spreading your knowledge across a wide spectrum of subjects. Nevertheless if you are enthused and produce good work you may achieve the higher grades where you meet the grading descriptors and where you fall a little short we will encourage you and give guidance. Obtaining Merits and in some cases Distinctions will go a long way to helping you achieve good job prospects. All marking is objective and set against Learning outcomes.
Costs = Blended learning £4350 for the complete programme of 16 units + £250 BTEC registration = £4600
The emphasis will be on being disciplined enough to get on with the assignments with minimum tutor support.

The guided number of learning hours required for the course is 960 hours which is 60 hours per unit. Wherever possible you will be encouraged to use the knowledge gained in your work as evidence in the assignments.

Assessment allows for formative and summative feedback and marking so you are given every chance to obtain the higher grades. As a rule, we will accept two drafts (formative) and a final submission (summative) before giving you a final grade.

chargeable.

These post nominals can be used after your name and prove that you are a member of the leading facilities management body in UK and acquired this status by being assessed to Diploma level at either level 4 or 5.

HND Computing online - on time

This is a great qualification to get whether it's the full HND Diploma (240 credits) or the HNC Certificate with (120) credits.
We run it on a flexible basis, on demand. Student support is via email for assessment feedback and Moddle - our VLE online website service for notes/assignments etc. With distance learning you can have skype sessions with him at mutually convenient times.
The cost is £180 per unit. each unit is worth 15 credits so you can pay as you go for the first three units. BTEC registration is £210 for the Diploma or £190 for the Certificate. Once you are happy with the way things are working and you submit the first assignments and get your feedback you can pay for another unit.
This flexi basis of learning suits some people because its saves time and money. We have to sacrifice in depth teaching which takes hours and therefore costs more, for more assessment focus. Ultimately you will not
achieve the Diploma if you become a brilliant Java programmer, but will if you understand enough to pass each of the assignments. Nevertheless if you are enthused and do good work we will reward you with the higher grades and where you fall a little short we will encourage you and give guidance. Obtaining Merits and in some cases Distinctions will go a long way to helping you achieve job prospects. The emphasis is on practical demonstration so you are encourage to upload links of videos, programmes, application prototypes, websites and databases that you have created.

I have just been appointed a Deputy Director of Soft Services on the strength of my new qualification as IWFM level 5. Today is my first day in the new job and I am at my new desk in Canary Wharf. I could not have done any of it without Nicolas, Geoff, and the team. Hopefully the new job & qualification will open horizons for me of which I hadn't dreamed. Thank you very much for everything, I couldn't have done it without the CCL!

Our son Alex just completed the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma on Information Technology (IT) as a pathway to his upcoming BSc Computer Science at University of Sussex this September. He also had 3 other options to choose from in Barcelona (Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Universitat Ramon Llull – La Salle Bonanova) and University of Essex in the UK. The support that Alex received throughout his BTEC by the College was fantastic, as well as the deep knowledge he acquired during the extended diploma, both his tutors and Nicolas, as a College Principal, made a difference to engage, encourage and motivate Alex over the last 2 years. As parents, we truly appreciate the College’s commitment to Alex success ! Biggest thanks.

The College of Central London is a fantastic college for anyone wanting to go into the field of computing. Raouf is a wonderful teacher who is charismatic, kind and guides you on any queries or questions for the assignments. The course is very well run with online, weekly sessions that were concise and deliver maximum learning value to the student. They are very flexible also and understand any outside commitments such as work. Any queries outside of class time were answered promptly via email. I completed the course in a couple of months, which I found very quick, but, at the same time, very informative. Also, the college principal, Nicolas, supported me completely through my application to universities on UCAS. To anyone wishing to study computing, I would 100% recommend the College of Central London. They are the definition of a supportive, well-organised college with kind and helpful teachers and staff that actually help to achieve what you want to. FIVE STARS ALL ROUND! :)

I studied a Level 3 Business Extended Diploma from March 2020 to July 2021 and I had a really good experience with this college and staff, in particular, the principal, Nicolas and my tutor, William. William always provided prompt and structured feedback for my submitted assignments and Nicolas was very supportive and helpful especially in the university application process. I managed to obtain D* D D and received offers to all the 5 universities I applied to, including some Russell Group universities. I am now super excited to be starting at my first choice university this September and would highly recommend this college, especially for those who aim to further their education at university.

I was a student of CCL from September 2020 to July 2021. I studied a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (180 credits) remotely. The college gave me the opportunity to complete this course in one year, instead of two. I achieved DDD in my course and this earned me a place at Newcastle University where I will study a Business Management degree from September 2021. This wouldn’t have been possible without CCL! Nicolas (the principal) provided me with constant support and feedback and guided me through all of the units that I had to complete. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students and their success. I am so thankful for CCL and all of the staff who work there. I couldn’t recommend this college enough!

I was an international student at The College of Central London when I completed the Computer Programming and Information Processing course in 1993. Recently, I was looking for a government employment here in California USA and had no luck since the last two and a half years because my diploma could not be verified. I received my diploma through my overseas institution which was affiliated with this college at that time, and they were unable to pull up such an old (almost twenty-eight years) record for verification or confirmation. I contacted this college and requested the confirmation of my diploma. Mr. Nicolas was able to pull up such an old record, verified and confirmed the authenticity of my diploma and amazingly I received the job offer in my first attempt. I am very thankful to Mr. Nicolas who assisted me in this critical moment when I was in need. I strongly recommend this college for everyone who wish to be successful!

An excellent college with a variety of courses. This is the only college that provides a two-year course within one year. The lecturers are very knowledgeable with a history of teaching at various Russel Group Universities. The level of work needs to reach a sufficient standard before it can get accepted, which is excellent preparation for the quality of work expected at University. This course has allowed me to gain a part-funded degree program at one of the top universities in the UK. In my exprience, whatever you are prepared to put into the course would be reflected in your grade. Many students fail to see the intensity of the course. The staff are also extremely helpful in providing references and giving hands-on guidance with the UCAS process. Special thank you to principal Nicolas for going above and beyond with the BTEC admin team. I highly recommend any course from this institute.

Top grades achieved on Pearson BTEC Diploma in Business

The College of Central London turned my life around. Returning to education on the Level 3 Business Diploma at The CCL after some very lackluster A levels and a full year out of studies I was uneasy about my ability to succeed in a course that I had no prior experience with. With the unwavering support of my incredible tutors, whom maintained a rich and deep wealth of practical business knowledge and experience, alongside the amazing co-ordination and support from the Principal Nicolas, I was able to engage with this course like I have with no other stage of education before in my life. The course content itself for Level 3 is very broad, and each student has the ability to choose exactly which companies and current events to write about, enabling every student to research, ask questions about and write about companies and organisations that they are most interested in throughout the entire duration of the course. This for me, in combination with the hands on, straight to the point teaching style meant that potentially long or boring topics were quite the opposite. (To my understanding this is also the case for HND levels 4 & 5) These factors came together to allow me to achieve my dream job straight out of the college, through the Grades I was now able to achieve alongside my expansive newfound practical and current business knowledge. I cannot thank the principal Nicolas, and my tutors William and Lynn enough for enabling my fantastic turn-around. I will never forget what this College did for me. If you are like me, looking for a second chance at getting into University, your dream apprenticeship or job, look no further, this is the place.

I am very glad to say I have completed my BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Business. It has been a considerable honour and privilege to work with College of Central London over the last two and a half years, even though we've never met face-to-face. In that time I have developed a much more broad and deep understanding of the workings of businesses and appropriate terminologies, and had a distinct sense of enjoyment from completing various elements of coursework. Most if not all of the content I have learned from this course will be transferable to a broad remit of other problems involving business decisions, and potentially even different disciplines such as within the IT sector. For the reasons I have stated above, it is with great pleasure that I am able to give the college an overall rating of five stars.

I became a student of the College of Central London in 2016 as they were the only place that I could find that would allow me to do a two year course over the space of just 9 months. I completed the course via distance learning and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Not only did I manage to complete the course in the 9-month timeframe, but I also managed to achieve D*D*D*, which is the best available mark. The key to my success was the exceptional support that was offered to me by my tutor, Nicolas. He constantly and quickly have me feedback on every piece of work I submitted and also provided clear and excellent resources to enable me to achieve my full potential. Despite never physically attending the college, I was still made to feel as though I was a top priority and as though they really cared about me. The assistance they offered me throughout the course was always clear, thoughtful and offered with the friendliest of approaches. The college helped me to effectively keep track of my deadlines, stay motivated and, most importantly, enjoy my time studying there. I could not recommend the College of Central London enough, it is a truly exceptional place that nurtures and encourages their students as well as is possible.

I started the Facilities Management Level 4 Certificate BIFM when I had free periods both at work and personal life. However, a few months into the program, everything changed. I became really busy with work that I hardly had time for anything else. A few times, I wanted to stop. But the continuous encouragement I was getting from the Principal and Trainers was just amazing I didn't want to let them down. Also, I was constantly reminded at my workplace about completion as they were the primary financier to my course. The experience and knowledge acquired doing the course has really helped my role at work and life. Thank you Nicholas (Principal) for everything.

After completing so much work, my sixth form decided to not let me onto the course and after that I felt extremely depressed and felt like I had no option left. Luckily I googled btec level 3 business in one year, so I found this college and contacted Nicolas (the principal) immediately and after I explained my situation he was really lovely and understanding. Within a few days all I had to do is send my gcse grades and a few forms to sign and I was enrolled. I completed this course in one year whilst studying two alevels at sixth form, I would attend the college once a week and caught up really fast. It was difficult but Lynn my teacher and Nicolas made it easier for me as I was able to email them any questions I had and they marked my work so I that I could achieve the grade I wanted. Lynn is an excellent teacher, she explains the content then all you have to do is apply the knowledge she shares and do some research. I didn’t find anything challenging because of the support I got, the only thing I found challenging was balancing time between the btec and my A levels. Especially the fact that the class size is very small it made it easy for me to ask questions and get feedback regarding my work straight away. Thanks to Nicolas and Lynn, I’m hopefully going to study Mathematics at a top 5 university in September. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without them, I received a distinction star which I’m super happy about. Also the location of the college is brilliant, there’s so many transport links and the area is lovely. This is probably the best decision I took, and I hope no one hesitates to apply to this amazing college.

The course was amazing because I have learnt a lot about business from a different point of view. I already have a degree from Spain so I see how accounting and finance work from a British perspective as well as the structure of businesses within the UK system. When I arrived from Spain in October 2017 my level of English was beginner. I have improved my English beyond my expectations and though it was especially difficult to understand the technical words, I managed to grasp them in the end because they are often repeated again and again across the units. I can recommend this course to anyone who wants to improve their English and learn about Business in UK. I was happy with the college and tutors.

On A Levels results day last year I was rejected by my first choice university having not met the required grade in one subject. Thanks to the College of Central London and it’s very helpful principal Nicolas Kailides, I’m now on track to take up a place at that same university this September. I enrolled with CCL to do a distance learning BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Business which is the equivalent of one A level. This gave me huge flexibility and meant that I could work at my own pace without being tied to a classroom setting. Although I found parts of the course very challenging, Nicolas was always on hand if I had any queries and he marked everything promptly so I knew that I was heading in the right direction. I had to resubmit some pieces of work at the start but I was given clear guidance about what improvements were needed. I found the course really interesting and I’m looking forward to starting an exciting new chapter in my life later this year. I would certainly recommend CCL - without wanting to sound too over the top, it has been life-changing for me!

Studying at the Central College of London has been the best decision that I took for my studies and future career. For instance, after passing my IELTS exam, I wasn't prepared for univeristy with its number of fees and responsibilities. So as an evidence I found online the most suitable program that mixes interesting lectures, online feedback and high level of methodologies. As a result, I got merit grades for each subject. William the lecturer is extremely knowledgeable and gave the strength to succeed. Also Nicolas the principal is currently in touch with hard-working and passionate students. William, the teacher and Nicolas, the principal help you in everything and they are always trying to get the best of you, even with the course already finished. They are very flexible. Without a doubt an enriching experience.

The College of Central London is a place where hard work will reward you with success, a team that will support you in every situation to make your journey as memorisable as possible, but most importantly will help you build a first class foundation towards a professional career. I'm extremely pleased with the overall outcome. I am off to one of the most prestigious universities in the UK and would recommend the CCL to anyone else.

I stumbled across CCL a couple of years ago online as I was looking for a way to get additional recognised qualifications in I.T. I enrolled on the distance learning version of the course as I was already in practice and couldn't attend college physically. I had a clear (ish) idea in my mind which modules I wanted to choose and had the flexibility to do some that were more suited to my professional outlook and personal goals. Nicolas and Purna facilitated these requests (even though one of the modules they had never done before!) Although this has been hard work it's been highly rewarding, Nicolas and Purna provided the support when needed, but I mostly just got on with it which suited me personally down to the ground. I found communication with both Nicolas and Purna to be really good. Nicolas answered about zillion questions I had and Purna provided the academic references and guidance when needed. Due to the support I had, I finished my course with a distinction and had 4 offers from good Universities to finish my degree. I ultimately choose Anglia (ARU) and have been accepted onto their BSc Computing Top up. For anyone that has doubts or concerns with studying at a private college, I can genuinely and positively say that compared to my first University experience over a decade ago, this felt a lot more friendly, close-knit and approachable. It also proves that you get out what you put it, you can absolutely go wherever you want to go and study next if you work hard, CCL has helped me to do that and I am forever grateful.

In the 5 years, I have been in England, it has given me an education, a second language and enabled me to get my self-esteem back again. In Italy, all my friends of my age (I am in my 50’s) are now unemployed and destitute. Milan is a huge and great city, but people don’t have any money to buy the things the workers try and sell. The city appears dead. London by contrast is alive and well. The shops are trading and business is wide and varied. There are plenty of jobs for those who want to work. I now have three jobs and a head full of ideas. I managed to take a loan from a friendly bank and pay it all back within 3 ½ years. My second loan will be bigger to help me with my business venture involving buying and selling goods. I feel I am an international trader and have the confidence to organise my finances and carry our market research needed to identify customers for my products. I feel indebted to the people of London who listened and helped me when I packed my bags and came to here with no education, no money and not a word of English. Thanks to the college of central London for listening to me and offering me an education. It gave me hope and taught me international trade. My spoken English has improved and my writing too. I can recommend the college to anyone who wants to study hard to achieve something in life. It’s a pity BTEC courses in International Trade have been stopped. Hopefully they will run the course with a different awarding body. The college loves international trade like I do. Go there and study!

I first came to know about CCL while browsing the Internet. When I looked at previous students’ reviews I was much surprised to find out that most of them were very positive, not to say enthusiastic, to the point that I even suspected that they could be fakes. I looked for other schools too but, for a number of reasons (opportunity, location, timing, costs, etc.), I finally enrolled to CCL. Now that I’m close to getting my Diploma, I must acknowledge that those students’ reviews reflected reality and that they were well deserved. Trust me: CCL is a great place where to study with great teachers and an always supporting staff.

Having originally started a BTEC Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership at another college and having trouble getting my grades accepted by the awarding body, I transferred to the College of Central London in order to get my work marked and officially approved by BTEC. I found them to be very knowledgeable and proactive in problem solving. The tutors and advisors. Were very helpful in getting things sorted out for me. To be honest I was very upset with the previous college who let me down so badly. It is uplifting and inspiring when you meet people ready to help you at the moment when you think everything is lost. I am delighted I met the people at the college of central London who helped me achieve the BTEC Level 7 qualification and get accepted to study an MBA in London. Thanks to them, I managed to achieve my goal and obtaining a Distinction in my MBA studies and graduated in September 2016. I can recommend the college to anyone who is busy at work and wants to study for a level 7 qualification and top up to MBA. If I can do it, then this path is open to others. The college of Central London is experienced and knowledgeable about all things business and management and you can feel confident in achieving the result within the timeline set.

Pearson BTEC Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership

Having studied at The College of Central London for 18 months, I have found the facilities to be better than the old location and staff the same helpful tutors and advisors. Tower Bridge Business Centre is easy to get to on the circle line and a fantastic walk along the Tower Bridge moat wall and along jubilee walkway to reach the college. It is very uplifting and improves the mood for the day ahead. Staff in reception meet and greet in very friendly manner. I originally started the Pearson BTEC Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership in February 2015 and despite working full time, the college adjusted their schedule so that the tutor visited me at work where he conducted tutorials on a face to face basis. This has made my experience an enjoyable one by helping me progress through the course workload in an organised and efficient way. The tutor at the college went out of his way to cater for my needs and my busy schedule at work. The fact that the college will always work alongside students individually managing the students’ needs is a real asset and an important service for people like myself who want to find a way to get into postgraduate level education whilst having been away from formal education for many years. I am delighted to have achieved my goal of qualifying for this tough qualification and have decided to take the next step and top up my qualifications with an MBA. I can recommend the college t anyone who is busy at work and wants a no nonsense approach to gaining a qualification at level 7. The tutor is experienced and knowledgeable about all things business and management as well as IT so you feel confident in achieving the result within the timeline set.

I studied at The College of Central London for one years fast track in order to gain a qualification to go to university for third year top up. I started in September 2015 and after been out of the educational system for some time was a bit nervous with what to expect. The staff and my advisor helping me gradually integrate into the course and into the courses workload by planning my assessment strategy so I can finish in one year and realise my dream. Though I eligible for third year top up I am thinking to stay on and study a level 7 in Strategic Leadership and Management. I would definitely recommend the college 100%, especially to anyone one who is looking to get back into education or has had difficulty through the conventional routes.

The tutors and Principal were very accommodating and continuously helped me throughout the process. I learnt a lot about business and the hardest lesson of all was time management. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the College of Central London for the recent letter of recommendation provided. It has only served to strengthen my positive memories accumulated during time I spent in the College. It was a wonderful academic experience for me, as well as enjoyable strong and lasting friendships with highly intellectual and interesting individuals, both students and Tutors. The Maritime Management Course I took was absolutely practical, though really intensive. College is very flexible and can tailor the Course to your needs, even provide Skype conferences. You can take either all the Modules in one time, or study them one by one. At the end, you’ll get confidence to speak and write the technical language, and get a document (Diploma or Certificate), recognized by International Companies and Universities. Special thanks to Mr. William Simper and Principal Mr. Nicolas Kailides for the countless hours of revisions and advices on my assignments. I appreciate their willingness to work on a tight schedule and help me graduate in a timely manner while pursuing a meaningful direction of my further development in obtaining the professional qualification with Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. I highly recommend this course to every student who wants to make a step up in their shipping career and wish all the best of luck to the future of the College of Central London

Having studied at The College of Central London for two years now I have found both the facilities and staff to be amazing. I originally started the HND Business course in 2014 and after been out of the educational system for sometime was a bit nervous with what to expect. The staff made my experience an enjoyable one by helping me gradually integrate into the course and into the courses workload. The tutors at the college will go out of their way to cater for your needs as well as the administration staff at the college, nothing is too much. During my time at the college I have seen many students with different needs and abilities. The college will always work alongside students individually managing the students needs. I thoroughly enjoyed my first year at the college and decided to stay on and study a level 7 in Strategic Leadership and Management. All of the students I have met whilst at the college, I have found to be friendly and approachable. The location of the college is superb with very good travel links. Many of the students choose to organise social events after college with it being so close to very good amenities. During my time there and through the tutors many contacts, I have even been able to gain work experience, which incorporates real life scenarios which are valuable for the course. The college also regularly arranges trips in and around the London legal and business sectors. I would definitely recommend the college 100%, especially to anyone one who is looking to get back into education or has had difficulty through the conventional routes.

Testimonials

The course is delivered one evening a week in 3 hour sessions and there is a tutorial at the end of each module. I personally benefited from the mode of teaching and the pace of the course which gives time to digest the information and consolidate learning between lectures (if you are disciplined!) My tutors were all expert in their field e.g FBIFM, FCIBSE, CEng level. Course materials are provided on an online learning environment along with a recommended reading list although it is essential to attend all the classroom sessions, take notes and make the most of the face time with tutors (e.g ask questions). I found the notes for module 4.03 People Management and 4.05 Health and Safety were a particular help when it came to writing the assignments.
