Don't even bother.. The worst holiday company ever!

Where to even begin with the absolute abysmal display of complete unprofessionalism.. We were a group of 8 (20-24 years of age, 4 members of family + 2 couples of friends) looking for a place to stay in Newquay. We'd searched long and hard to find somewhere as many wouldn't even accept us because of our age. We found Cornwall Holiday Cottages Ltd. and sent a booking request for Da Nance for August 2015. We submitted our names and ages of all the guests to be certain that they would be ok with us before making any sort of payment. The next day we had a reply thanking us for our booking and asking for the gender of all members of the party (presumably because they do not want same-sex parties) and details of a refundable deposit. We swiftly sent these details off and 4 days later paid the deposit. 4 days later, we receive an e-mail telling us that our booking has been cancelled. This is due to our party not being a 'family group'. No where on the website did it state that bookings were only taken for family groups (so apparently it wouldn't matter if we were middle-aged either!). Obviously very upset about this, and considering we had already submitted our names/ages, we contacted Cornwall Holiday Cottages who actually told us this was due to our age. I phoned up and was told they had not cancelled any bookings and they would phone me back in the afternoon. Safe to say, Delia Mills (Owner) did not and instead e-mailed me back in the morning. I contacted Delia that morning to discuss the reason for cancellation, as we had now lost out on another property, and as far as we could see we had been upfront about everything before making the booking. For a new company, and one that is supposed to exude high-class and professionalism to all it's customers, Delia Mills has to be possibly the most ignorant and disrespectful person I have ever spoken to. I was not wishing to argue with Delia, all I wanted was to understand why they would let us book (and subsequently miss out on the other property) and then cancel it. Delia constantly interrupted me, told me she wasn't going to argue with me and told me that they had cancelled the booking and to 'get over it' - professional indeed. Delia then hung up the phone on me. I phoned back and spoke to Andy Mills, presumably her husband. Andy was far more professional than Delia - may I suggest he be the voice of your telecommunications from now on as Delia obviously hasn't gotten to grips with customer service? Andy confirmed that there wasn't anything on the site or the Terms of Business specific to age or family groups (albeit Delia who had constantly said that there is and that it is 'plastered all over the website'). Andy said that the company 'reserves the right to cancel any booking' and that there was nothing more they can do. So not only did they lie to us and say it was an issue of family group when actually it seemed to be our age, they also allowed us to book after we had already given our ages upfront, agreed to pay a larger damage deposit but I also had to face the wrath of the most unprofessional owner of a company possibly in existence. Avoid Cornwall Holiday Cottages at all costs. If you deal with Andy you might be ok, but if you have any problems or deal with Delia, prepare to be told you're wrong, not given a chance to speak and told to 'get over it'. AVOID AVOID AVOID
