We are here to help you to make suitable choices which will improve your prospects and provide exciting opportunities to develop you as a person so that you stand out from the crowd and can succeed in an increasingly competitive world.

Our aims

That you are happy and successful. This includes getting you on the right courses and creating a myriad of extra-curricular opportunities which develop your passion for learning and a love of what you study. Good choices and hard work will foster high grades in exams because you are motivated, you enjoy what you are doing and you are preparing to outperform the competition.

That you develop a range of skills and aspirations that help you to succeed and be a better independent learner.

This includes offering a broad range of courses to match your achievements, your interests and your hopes for the future but also using your time in the sixth form to develop personal, practical, academic, social and employment related skills which will give you the edge in an increasingly competitive world. In the sixth form you also need to take greater responsibility for leading your own learning and developing independent learning skills so you are working effectively outside of lessons and at home. You also work as a team and help others in your classes to learn. You need to have as many advantages as possible when applying and being interviewed for university and employment and to ensure you get promoted or noticed for your talents and achievements. We want you to have social mobility and have access to the full range of employment opportunities and life choices which secure the long term future for you and your family.

That you develop as a person

We want you to have opportunities within the sixth form to develop an even stronger moral dimension for example through the opportunity to get involved in academic and professional organisations and charities and through the development of good manners and other social skills which are the hallmark of most successful people. We want you to meet as many successful people as possible and learn from their experience to guide and shape your own success.

That you broaden your horizons and opportunities

Whilst you are in the sixth form, we will encourage you to consider opportunities beyond the locality, including internationally and in business and universities. We want to help you to take advantage of some of our wide range of connections with businesses, government and our global partnerships.
