The Cromwell House Hotel

Catriona and Alistair Miller run the hotel with a small dedicated staff who aim to create a friendly atmosphere in the style of a small Country House. The unique position of the house with its outstanding views, goes a long way to creating the peaceful atmosphere their guests enjoy. They have spent the years since they came to the hotel steadily raising the standard. The decor is bright and cheerful with a homely feel. The hotel has 20 rooms - a combination of doubles, twins, singles and family rooms all ensuite as well as a disabled room and a self-catering flat.


Tea and coffee facilities, television, direct dial telephones and full central heating are provided in all rooms. (Radios can be provided on request). More than half the rooms and all the reception rooms enjoy delightful sea views.


The hotel has a comfortably furnished sitting room with TV (including satellite), and a separate bar with open fire for afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks. Dorset cream teas with home made scones and real clotted cream are a speciality.


The spacious dining room has patio doors leading onto a south-facing terrace and garden. The swimming pool (heated May to October) is in a spectacular position high above the hotel facing south west for maximum sunshine.


Lobsters and crabs from Lulworth's own fisherman are the highlight of a varied menu. Locally dived scallops are also regularly available.

Annexe

FLAT comprises a double bed room, a twin bedroom and spacious living area. There is a fully equipped and modern kitchen. A comfortable corner unit makes full use of the bright and airy space without crowding and there is also a breakfast bar and dining table that together sit 6-8 people. A double futon can be used as extra bed in this area. Each bedroom has a private bathroom opposite, each with a toilet and one with bath and the other with shower. The whole flat has wonderful sea views.


















































THE DISABLED ROOM is a spacious self-contained, fully serviced, room on the ground floor of the cottage. (No kitchen) It is fitted with twin beds and comfortable chairs with plenty space for wheel-chair movement. The Bathroom is fully equipped with drive in shower and high level toilet. There is also a full bath which allows this room to be used by more mobile guests. We have had several bookings by the genuinely disabled and those who prefer to avoid stairs, who have found the facilities helpful and comfortable. A small parking bay outside the disabled room is fitted with an outside plug for charging motorised wheelchairs.

Rose Cottage

The Cottage has five bedrooms; there are three double rooms, two of which have ensuite showers; the other has a sea view but shares a bathroom. There is one twin bedded room and a single which can accommodate two children with a pull out bed. A large bathroom is shared between these three bedrooms. There is a comfortable sitting room with wood burning stove; a beautifully furnished dining room suitable for formal entertaining and family meals; a fully equipped kitchen and a conservatory/breakfast room.





Rose Cottage can be taken by families and groups on a self-catering basis; or the bedrooms can be taken individually for bed and breakfast. The cottage is now owned by the Miller family who also own the Cromwell House Hotel, which is immediately next door, and cottage guests are welcome to share the hotel`s facilities such as the bar, restaurant and the swimming pool.
