Crown Skips – Damaged property & shabby customer service:

Having had some building work done on our home, the contractors used Crown Skips (of Crown Waste Management, Nuneaton & Coventry) to supply/remove 3 large skips over a 2 week period in May 2012. During collection of 1st skip, the delivery driver drove over a neighbour’s kerbstone and grass, pushing the kerbstone out of alignment and putting ruts in the grass – this was completely unnecessary due to available space. Although we advised building contractors to ensure subsequent drivers keep off the neighbour’s property, on the 2nd skip collection much more damage was done – even though there was ample space to access and off load skips. When raising the issue to Crown Skips management, and submitting repair bill, they failed to respond to the written request. Though their staff promised to check status and respond, they also failed to do so. The Customer Services and Planning Managers also failed to respond. The company presents a cavalier attitude to damage property, and singularly fails to redress the issue with affected parties. Overall, we found that staff to be rude, unprofessional and untruthful. More so, it is evident that the company cannot be trusted to deliver skips without risk of damage to one’s own, or neighbouring properties – with no willingness to cooperate to resolve the problem. As such, Crown Skips are BEST AVOIDED – use another company with a better reputation. PS: Although I sent this summary to Crown Skips for advance review, they failed to respond.
