Horrible

We purchased and approved used 2007 VW Jetta from Crowsons of Spalding in April 2010. We found the vehicle listed in VW UK's official website and believed that this was a vehicle in good condition, having passed all the official VW inspection points. We made an offer to the dealer, Crowsons of Spalding, which was 1000 GBP below the published price. The dealer accepted the offer immediately under the condition that no warranty would be provided for the vehicle. Given that we intended to import the vehicle to Cyprus and would not be able to go back to the dealer for the warranty, and our assumption that we were purchasing a fully inspected vehicle in good faith, we agreed. Within the first week of acquiring the vehicle, the ESP warning light turned on. We called Crowsons of Spadling and talked to one of the owners, who suggested taking the vehicle to a local VW service centre which we did. The service centre used the VW diagnostic tool and informed me that the error code 01435 appears which translates to part G201 (brake pressure sensor) needing replacement. The price for this part from the specific dealer is Euro 2837. Upon contacting Crowson Spalding, their immediate reaction was that they sold us a vehicle without warranty (!) but they would get back to us. One day later they informed us that they were willing to reimburse us 250GBP for the part that failed. Of course we rejected this insulting offer. We prefer to not take the 250GBP to "shut up" and inform the public about this bad experience. Whether Crowsons Spalding knew about the expensive problematic part and this is why their immediate response to our offer was to accept it but give us no warranty should be judged by you! It is rather suspicious, isn%u2019t it ?
