Avoid Like The Plague

We contacted D White Roofing in August 22 and booked them to replace our roof in Nov 2022. We heard nothing from them until 1 week before the work was due to start and then only after I'd spent days trying to get hold of them by phone and email. I was told they couldn't make the arranged date. The work was then re-scheduled to Dec 22. Again, we heard nothing and again 1 week before the work was due to start I tried calling and emailing for days. There was no reply at all this time. So my wife tried calling from her mobile (a number they wouldn't recognise) and amazingly they answered immediately. They told my wife they wouldn't be able to make the re-scheduled date and told her they "should be able to do it at the end of Jan 2023". Once again, no communication and now there was no answer when calling from my phone or my wife's. We tried for days. I then called from my desk phone at work (another number they wouldn't recognise) and I got an immediate answer!!!! Lots of excuses and more empty promises later I told them not to bother, we'll go elsewhere. 3 wasted months!!!!! We get that things happen that end up slipping dates but to not communicate that is a total waste of our time.
