Great Food and Even Better View

The Dam House, which has recently undergone a makeover costing upward of one million pounds, does seem to be a little hit and miss with Trusted Places reviewers, but I'm here to support the positives - which were all I experienced upon my visit. My wife and I recently enjoyed our first meal here, where we ordered two courses a glass of wine each. The weather wasn't quite warm enough to sit outside, but the opportunity is something which seems inviting enough to tempt us back on a fine day; especially with the beautiful views of Crookes Valley Park with its grassy banks and man made lake. The aforementioned is perfect for a stroll around, if only to work off the delicious food!

..and not so brilliant either. The only good thing I found about this place was the view of the field. Food is expensive and pretentious.

The first I visited the Dam House it was for a friends 40th birthday bash. The weather was great and we were all sat outside in the beer garden watching people fishing in the dam that backs onto this nice bar.The Dam house comes across as a bit too posh for the common folk of Sheffield, but in actual fact the staff are friendly and happy to serve you no matter if you're a native Whirlow dweller or a Valley Lad born n bred like me (V.O.T). If you like good pub food then I hear (not that I have sampled) that the Dam House do some nice grub. However if you like a decent selection of standard beers and lagers found in most pubs but with a very nice atmosphere then The Dam house will surely please.

All round average for Dam House

Very average and somewhat overpriced gastro-pub. Atmosphere somewhat absent and TV presence rather over-whelming.
