You might think that with a name like "Dark Art Design" we deal in the occult. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth!

Over the years we have worked with many web professionals, who by their own admission, don't know the first thing about the design-side of a project. To them design is a "Dark Art". In fact the expression has arisen so often that when it came time to choose a business name, Dark Art Design seemed like a natural choice.

After illustrating several book jackets for Derbyshire based Scarthin Books, Andrew became a graphic designer within the advertising industry, which led to the start of his association with Northcliffe Newspapers (part of the Daily Mail and General Trust) for which he has created many advertising campaigns and features as well as continual success designing hundreds of advertisements for the business and its clients.

In 2004 Andrew joined Associated Northcliffe Digital as a senior web designer, where he created the BAFTA award-winning Headline History, a richly interactive, flash-based, educational site that merged journalism with the study of history utilising high-quality multimedia.

While working with Associated Northcliffe Digital, Andrew was also responsible for the design of a number of high-profile commercial sites including the acclaimed Lasting Tribute.
