Too many extra charges - stay clear
Like many I was sold by their attractive webpage and advertising. All seemed great. I told them I had already had a look inside the hard disk (probably a mistake!) and they still offered me the free evaluation and free pickup and free return. Once they had my disk it all started going pear-shaped. They demanded an extra £120+vat up front to do the assessment. Return was going to be £20+Vat if I declined the work, and if I did accept the work they would charge for the media they sent any data back on - another £130+Vat in my case. On top of the 'fixed price' quote. So the quote of £195 turned into £534. These charges are in the small print - am I the only one who doesn't read every word? Save yourself the hassle and stay clear.

Awful
I had an awful experience with DATATRACK LABS. I asked for a quote, then send the 2TB WD external hard drive to Datatrack Labs. They replied back with conditional proposal, they would only proceed with the repair after replacing some parts, for which they estimated a 80% probability of success. I paid 200£ then the problems started. I had no feedback from my e-mails for weeks, I had to call several times before being informed about the failure on the data retrieval. I asked for an official report and had to wait several days for a 3 lines e-mail. When I asked for the drive back, then send it without the external case and when I called they said it was been disposed!! Now I cannot get the warranty back from WD.

Don't use
Terrible service! Couldn't recover the majority of my data (photos and videos) and then refused to offer any sort of discount off of the amount paid. Also was over a week late on the promised delivery date. Would definitely not recommend to anyone.
