So What's Dave Nicholls Music All About Then?

Well that's me! Since being made redundant as an ICT Systems Manager in May 2014 I have been concentrating on music in a number of different, ever evolving acts. You can see details of those below. I have also been recording songs, mainly covers, in my own right, because I really like them! The plan is to make a living at doing one of my greatest passions, so we'll see how that pans out in the future. There will be many gigs and many recordings.

Mind The Gap can provide you with an evening of musical entertainment to suite your needs. We cater for all occasions from House Concerts to large weddings and corporate events and we are completely self contained with our own very high quality P.A. and Lighting System.. Mind The Gap consists of Dave Nicholls - Vocals & Guitar, Jay Jones - Piano, Louise Wilson - Vocals & Guitar and Sofia Wilks - Vocals. We are available in many formats including a laid back duo, Dave & Jay, playing completely live set of songs ranging from George Gershwin to Kings Of Leon, all in a Jazz Lounge style. This can be extended to a trio to include Louise. This trio can also perform a highly entertaining set of classic sing-along/dance songs, including backing tracks, that everyone will know and love and we fill dance floors from the outset whenever we play Sofia is on hand as an alternative to Louise, should a more up to date set be required.

Rock It Is But Is It Progressive?
Dv8 is our band performing original music mostly written by myself. I have a large back catalogue and am working through these to record and play. Most of my songs have a rockish feel to them and acdording to Jay they fit into the "Steely Zapper" genre. Oh, and I guess some are a bit "Progressive Rock". We are all excited about sharing our work with live audiences.

I can also provide a full DJ or DJ and Karaoke service for any event.
