Bunch of cowboys!
My sister bought a car from The Car Shop in November 2012 and it has been losing oil and making a strange noise. My husband checked it and noticed straight away that water is getting into the oil which indicates that the head gasket has gone, a very costly thing to get fixed. She has had the car less than 2 months so I called them today and was told that the shop has changed hands and the new owner of the garage said he cannot do anything to help. He told me that the owner of The Car Shop is now sunning himself in Spain! There is nothing on The Car Shop's website to indicate that it has gone out of business. My sister is now left with a car she cannot drive and she hasn't even paid for it yet. The only consolation is that she paid in full for the car by credit card so we might be able to get some help from them.

Awful car, terrible service, plain rude
My wife and I brought a car from this garage back in March, it was supposed to be a little run around car for her and our 3 children. It soon became apparent there were several minor faults and even one major one - the power steering failed. The response we got was to drive the car back to them, some 80 odd miles, and they would repair it and re-mot it so we would know it was 100% road legal. It was mot'd before we collected the car so what does that say about the first test? We eventually rejected the car within the required 30 days but they refused. We have taken them to court, and won, but they have not responded to the court order in time. We now have to get a solicitor and probably bailiffs aswell. We've now had enough and have got in contact with their local papers and even Watchdog. We are now out of pocket nearly £4,000 and the unroadworthy car they sold us remains on our drive where it has sat since March!

I sadly also brought a car from the car shop. Like the two below I have also had many many problems. two of which would of been highlighted by even the most basic of checks from a mechanic. The car shop is not afraid to brake the law to sell a dud car to you! The car I brought was unsafe to be on the road (criminal offence) and was "sold as seen" (fineable offence by trading standards) The car shop has told me they wont do anything with the car. I hope that the other two reveiwers did the same as I did and reported them to trading standards. I also feel ashamed to be forced into giving them one star for anything

I also purchased a car from the car shop medway Chatham, and just like matthew I experienced a load of issues with the car that cost me £5200, again using the car finance company,based in Portsmouth, again I also compained to a guy called Phil who was rude and very patronising, the car shop Medway is not a car dealer I would recomend that any one use the cars come with no pre safety check and no service, what a complete bunch of rouge traders, the car finance company from Portsmouth are not to be trusted, they will get you to sign then stick two fingers up at you when they are done, these are a bunch of rouge traders just like the dealers they use, remember they aint going to upset the dealer coz without them they have nothing to finance.

I bought a car from this company through a finance company called The car Finance company, based in Portsmouth, the car was having problems from day one when I took it back to complain about the issues, 12 of them ranging from the engine making a load grinding to interior grab handles missing, considering the car cost £4000 you would at least expect it to have been serviced before it was allowed to be passed on to me, no it was a complete joke from start to present, when I called the finance company to complain a guy named Phill was very unhelpful and very patronising, this was a complete wast of time, it now comes to light that Phill and his other work mates at THE CAR FINANCE COMPANY are TAKING BROWN ENVERLOPE'S say no more, that explains why they sided with THE CAR SHOP MEDWAY, DON@T BUY FROM THIS BUNCH OF COWBOYS WHO CLAIM THERE CARS COME WITH A FULL SERVICE WHEN IN FACT THEY DON'T.
